Killer price. It makes Selenia look like a very expensive deal. :)

I called Joshi and they flatly refused. Banarsi Dass were a step ahead - firstly they said Linea takes Castrol. Then later they simply disconnected my call.

    Cheers.

@akshay In punto 3.0 L when draining and 3.2 L when E.Oil filter is changed. So, I think same holds good for linea also.

Distributor bills the oil in the name of other dealer and he won't directly bill in your name and if you want bill you need to go to some dealer and get the bill.

I got a quote of Rs.3,200/- for Castrol Edge 5W-40(4 Litre can).

And got a quote of Rs.620/- per litre of agip 5W-40 and it gets lesser for a 3 litre can but I already locked deal for castrol Edge.

Hmm, @750 per litre i would love to go for this oil. But the issue is i change oil at 7500kms. Its already 5000kms on Selenia WR and my engine is sounding rough. If i change to Mobil Delvac 1 after finishing 7500kms, again in next servicing TASS will use selenia WR. so anyways i will have to drain the good delvac 1.

If i insist on using delvac 1 itself on the CRM it wont show i poured in Selenia WR and this will cause warranty issue if anything goes wrong. And believe me they wont budge. Even legally we cannot win in this case.

Might be i will have to hold my Delvac plans till warranty gets over :(

I saw Mobil 1 Delvac in US, but no where I could find it written as Synthetic or fully synthetic, have you seen it?
I am now going to look at ACCA and API ratings rather than just going by the thinking that all synthetics are good.even I was very close in buying Castrol EDGE but it wasn't meant for compression based Engine.
    What's your thought ?

Indeed Mobil Delvac 1 is priced very low in India considering how good that oil actually is.
Top Secret:- Banarsi Dass would use any oil supplied by customer as long as one gets Selenia billed from them. You just need to be friendly and open with SA and promise you would give 10/10 in ratings. But that would be waste of money since Selenia will remain unused and with evrey service you would be getting 4 Ltrs of oil.

D1 is fully synthetic, rest assured. Source - Mobil
    delvac.JPG

And yes there is a special Castrol Edge Turbo Diesel 5W40. But the normal Castrol Edge is not much different to it. The only thing special to CETD is that it carries the VW 505.01 approval (Read - a specialist oil to gain approval from VW) and an ACEA C3 rating. The normal Edge is ACEA B3/B4 rated - perfectly fine for the Multijet.

But, just go for the D1.

    Cheers.

To be frank after using and trying so many castrol oils i prefer to stay away from them. Half the marketing claims do not withstand and oil gets battered very soon. Also many times they are overpriced.

They use marketing craze and 98% of indians fall for it.

My experience says : Shell, Motul (best for 2 wheelers too), Mobil, Petronas and Quartz are way better oils than equivalent Castrols. I care a damn whether they got VW approvals and what not.
