Its 1652 days precisely :p (4 Years 5 months) and I still didn't have an ownership thread, So here is a small write up on the same. It all started in January of 2009. we had a Tata Indica for 6 years then, it had faithfully served us without any major issues, but it was turning old and problems started to creep up. Window winders, fuel pump, tyres... started to give up one by one. So Dad and Mum decided that it was time to bid adieu to the little Tata. Having decided that it all came down to "What's the Car???". our options were The then new Honda City, Fiat's Linea and Mahindra's Xylo.
The Xylo was the first one in the list to be striked off as it didn't have the appeal and the refinement that the other too did, so it came down to either the City or the Linea. Now dad was already troubled with the ever increasing petrol prices combining that with Honda's not so great fuel efficiency and rather putting off feature list when compared to the Linea it was decided that the Fiat was the way to go.
so after a few months of intense research on the car that marked Fiats comeback into the Indian market and a couple of test drives. The car just didn't seem to stop to impress, add to that the tagline "Admiration Guaranteed" and we were all in love with the Linea. I had just started my 10th grade then and the excitement of bring home the new car was just crazy. So finally somewhere in mid July dad had finally went to Concorde Motors (Worli) and booked a Linea Emotion pack diesel in Flamenco Red. A colour that had a waiting list then. we were promised the car in 3-4 weeks. The day arrived, it was the 31st of August 2009 Dad called me when I was back from school and told me that we were to get delivery that evening. without any waiting I hopped onto a bus and met dad near the showroom in Worli. As I walked towards the back of the dealership I was awestruck to see the ultra shiny Linea with its all smiley face. We did a rather long PDI and got home the car soon after.
over the next few years it has served us with giving us the feeling that it was the right buy. Good Fuel economy, rather good service from TCRS Worli, and striking looks (people from neighbouring cars have complimented the car for its looks a lot of times)
I ended up learning to drive on it and boy o boy was I lucky! November of 2013 Dad got home a Mahindra XUV 5OO. A magnificent soft roader!
With the Linea now being Almost mine ;) slowly the Mods started. Here is a small list
    • Bi Xenon Projector lamps with smoked headlamp bezels (Smoked bezels were a DIY)
    • Gloss Black OE rims (DIY)
    • Amplifier and woofer (DIY)
    Upcoming
    • Gloss Black Vinyl roof (DIY)
    • Wolf REMAP  (Not sure :( still Considering )

Myself and Lunafiatic aka Pankaj have sat in this car; I even happened to drive this once for some time one occassion. It felt nice to see how well it performed as if it was a new engine that was fresh after a burn-in time. Karan Fernandes my dear friends and TFIans, is an avid DIYer who constantly has the car on the back of his mind and I wish him the best for all his forthcoming mod-ventures. :D

    Cheers mate..:drinks

    Hi Karan,

Heartiest congratulations on the Linea. A small talk with you during the last November team meet on NH3 and I knew that you are a fanatic when it comes to the DIY. And add to that your pops approving your mods is a pat on the back. Missed you during the Mega meet at Khopoli (I guess you were on road to Punjab)

I wish I could get those projector lamps on my stallion. Mind sharing more details like cost, time taken etc.

Keep revving and mile crunching. Drive safely.

Well, it feels really nice to read ownership reviews from our fellow members. Every one has a story to tell and every story has its charm. Yours was equally good and up to the point. Short and sweet. Well done Karan and all the best for many more miles to come. Take care of Eleanor and she will take care of you. It is always a give and take thing with our cars. The more you love them, the more they love you back. I am also impressed with your DIY's. I am starting to feel the heat of DIY's now but just controlling myself for the moment as my babe is pretty new and I don't want to take any chances at the moment. But hell yeah, I will definitely do something in the near future. Just a suggestion, it would really add value to your thread, if you could provide the service history of Eleanor & the costs involved etc.

    Hi,

I think I saw this car yesterday afternoon, as I noticed this "L i n e a" thing on the back as you were ahead of me.
Were you on the road near to the international airport by any chance?

    Regards

    Karan,

I must admit, your father has amazing patience to keep the track of the fuel spends and monthly running. Say a special thanks to him.

I observed you have filled a couple of times above 40 Ltrs of fuel. How did you manage to squeeze more than 40 lts in the fuel tank, I never manage to get past 38-39 lts. Dont you refuel when the low fuel indicator goes on? You would want to correct sr no 99 readings where the mileage shown is >200.

Cant see the total cost of the service till date due to the TFI watermark, mind posting it seperately.
