I saw Owner's handbbook . In Service Schedule, FIAT has not mentioned about EGR Valve Cleaning.

But for DDiS , Maruti has recommended EGR Valve cleaning at each 30000 KM

If engines are same then why FIAT is not talking on this issue ? ::O

    Please clarify

It is a rip off by Maruti. A colleague of mine has a Swift Dzire LDi. He was charged some 2.5k for EGR valve cleaning.

I don't see any reason why Fiat should be talking on this issue. It is not an issue in the first place !!

Wont the EGR valve get cleaned on its own by the high pressure exhaust gasses ? unless one uses adulterated fuel and low rpm driving which results in heavy deposits along the way ??. Just my doubt :confused .so some spirited acceleration often would clear the debris always.

Engine check light will glow when EGR gets blocked, only then it is to be cleaned.
Maruti is ripping people by cleaning it every 30k kms

Wow! Talk of daylight robbery. Maruti is the best example of "how to fleece your customer while maintaining top ranking."

It can't be call a "Daylight Robbery"

Because one common thing in Swift (D) is Premature Turbo Failure. I had discussed this with Amogh.

Turbo of Swift gets bad prematurally as compared to FIAT.
Because engine tunning of Swift is in such a way that carbon deposits are more in Swift (D)

Because of tendency of high carbon deposits in DDiS,Maruti has advised to clean EGR for every 30000KM

    Take a one test.

Start the DDiS at morning . Let the engine idle for 2-3 min. & then give a sudden rev upto 3500 RPM.

DDiS smokes like a coal engine. ::V

In case what you say is true regarding turbo failure, then it is a compounded day light robbery. First, put sub-standard parts like turbo and then charge customers for complications arising from that sub-standard part. One might blame tuning for turbo failure, but that is a conscious decision by Maruti which IMHO is compounding the situation.

This is also true to the some extent. Because in DDiS engine, Maruti has started to install some low quality parts.

e.g. :- New BS-IV DDiS are coming with CRi pump (High Pressure Fuel pump) made by UCAL.

Maruti is saving cost per FIAT engine by acting like this.

After some days , in DDiS only ECU & ECU firmware will be of FIAT. ::V
Remaining all parts will be of crap quality.

Still there will be price hike & still there will be long.................. waiting period for DDiS.
