AFAIK Petes had remapped a T-jet in Kerala and that was a pure remap and not a box. He was also planning for stage 2 upgrades for the same. I don't know much in detail.

Yes kedar you are absolutely right.

The idea behind the tuning box is very simple. They simply intercept the signal between your ECU and your fuel injection system. And in simple words, fool ECU to inject more fuel.

AFAIK Diesel engines are most suitable for the tuning boxes. ECU also controls the amount of fuel injected in the cylinders. So fooling ECU to do what w want is more than half job done.

So that with lesser throttle input. You could also have more fuel injected.

    I hope this helps.

    Pete's has remapped a T-jet.

I did not mention tuning box. I mentioned remap.

It was not switchable like wolf had offered for MJD.

Wolf still will take some time yet to come with a switchable remap for T-jet as Rajiv is on high sea yet and will be back this month sometime but then he has planned a project of switchable remaps for rapid and vento tdi.

I hope this clarification helps you Ritu. Lol...

    Cheers...

    Its simple.
Tuning boxes are only available for diesel engines.
No such boxes for Gasoline one's.

Let me add Pete's to the above list:

    TOT: INR 33K
    Kirrus: INR 31K
    Wolf: INR 25K
    Pete's : Rs.25,000

And a small correction, Wolf is not switchable on the move, you need to turn off the engine to switch the maps.

Map 4 is switchable on the fly from any map. It is triggered by the rpm and can be set at any rpm, preferably over 4K. So, say you are on Map 2 or 3 and you need more power immediately ( usually happens in ghats/hills) , as the rpm rises past the pre-set rpm the map switches to Map 4.

I did encounter this during my recent trip to the hills.

@kunwar.g : I was not informed about this by the Wolf guys. Does it work for the Tjet? And do you know how to set it?

@5u3zEr0 - If you are referring to how is the setting done on which rpm map 4 will get activated on the fly- then that is done by Rajiv on the map/program that he flashes to the ecu. He does that on his laptop and then flashes to the ECU. Not sure if it works for T-Jet, however if Wolf is able to provided 4 maps + stock for T-jet too then surely this can also be done.
