Cherrapunjee was dry when we visited. My Linea had tankful at an IOCL petrol pump there. The pump personnel started conversing with me after seeing the registration number plate of my Linea. They cautioned me when I said that Mawsmai Cave was our next destination!:) They advised me to hold my wife's hand and walk cautiously as the floors were slippery.

Mawsmai Cave is a limestone cave which was sort of adventure-tourism for us as we had to crawl at some bottlenecks inside the cave. We really enjoyed crawling at some dark passage with bats flying over us and water dripping all over us!

Marvelous pictures. Oh! the picture of Linea facing the open sky is a treat for eyes. Any idea how these caves will appear in extreme rainy seasons?

    Eco Park

    22 April 2012 [Sunday]

After Mawsmai Cave, we drove to Eco Park on the outskirts of Sohra. We experienced the true meaning of Meghalaya there with the clouds touching and passing over us!:)

We returned to our hotel, parked our Linea there and visited Ward's Lake. Our hotel was located on the bank of the lake.

Eco park looks so nice, nature at its best. Name of the park complements this.

Ravi Sir, You are correct. No name other than Meghalaya suits perfect for this heavenly place. Looks like a entry to heaven.
Linea will be happy to reflect the blue sky on her metallic surface.

How is the food there. Have you experiment with some local specialties?

    Thank you, Ravi.
Food-wise, we did not want to experiment outside as the choice was very limited for vegetarians. However, we came across Delhi Misthan Bhandar, a pure veg restaurant at Police Bazaar, near our hotel, where we had dinner one evening. We enjoyed Rasmalai there as we could not get that Bengali sweet in West Bengal.

While a few pages in this thread were devoted to fauna [animals], now this post is exclusively reserved for flora [plants] of Ward's Lake.:)

    Hi Mr J Ravi,

You bought me that same youth and life after 30 years. I was born and brought up in Meghalaya, Shillong. I honour your courage and also would like to utter the same words for your wife. She is you, with immense confidence and courage.
