A very effective visual, though sadly you see more and more people using the cell while driving - even on two wheelers! In my opinion, Blue and Me, perhaps, provides the only safe option for using the cell while driving - distraction factor the same as talking to your co-passenger. In retrospect, the Emo Pack was worth the extra cost.

Yes. Thats why Blue & Me is a Boon.

Even in my earlier car I never used to pick calls on my cells if I've not attached headset.

For all owners who dont have BluenME, can still drive safely.

    Option a)
I used to leverage Jabra SP700 in my car. Back in 2008 this was purchased for $70 and I still have it in my Indica.
I can vouch that this bluetooth speakerphone is excellent. You can even use it at home for a group discussion (office meeting) and its 1000 times better than your speakerphone.

    Option b)
If you'll are purchasing an ICE system, purchase one with bluetooth built in.

One way or the other, no driving will holding the phone in one hand.

In my view whether it is blue and me or any other system talking while driving is a complete No No. Since talking whether on Blue and me or other wise your attention veers off a little and that little may be too much sometimes.
So please donot talk when on road. if need be pull over and talk to your hearts content.

Many road users are tense, stressed and prone to road rage.
Perhaps one remedy is to have creatively designed humorous stickers on vehicles that subtly emphasize 'defensive driving'.
This may help reduce the tension and keep drivers in good humour.
In turn, hopefully, the drivers will concentrate on safety and responsible driving.

    Quote
Wikipedia - "The standard Safe Practices for Motor Vehicle Operations, ANSI/ASSE Z15.1, defines defensive driving as "driving to save lives, time, and money, in spite of the conditions around you and the actions of others."
This definition is taken from the National Safety Council's Defensive Driving Course.
It is a form of training for motor vehicle drivers that goes beyond mastery of the rules of the road and the basic mechanics of driving.
Its aim is to reduce the risk of driving by anticipating dangerous situations, despite adverse conditions or the mistakes of others.
This can be achieved through adherence to a variety of general rules, as well as the practice of specific driving techniques.

I do not have Blue & Me so I use Nokia HF-310.
For all those who do not have Blue & Me, I suggest using Nokia HF-310 or a similar Bluetooth Car kit. Well worth the cost of approximately 3.5K. It integrates well with all Nokia phones having Bluetooth.

Wish my Punto also had a 'blind spot mirror'.
    That would be useful.
