Though people do it all the time, but do the oil change with the car supported on car stands.

A slim chance (1 out of a million) it may be, but the jack can fail / slip causing much harm. Safety first!

    Cheers.

that's exactly the reason why i never attempted a DIY on this one. Going under a 1.2 ton piece of metal was something that just didn't get my adrenalin going!!

    Hello All,

Please advice if using Shell helix Ultra (Full Synthetic) Oil will cause any issues to my Fiat Punto Diesel Emotion 2012 model?

Is it any better than the one used by Auth. Service Providers?

    Regards,

    Anand

Anand, if your car is under warranty stick to the FASS recommended. Post warranty you can choose based on Fiat owner's recommendation.

has any one dealth with stupidly tight oil filter plastic cover? the guys at fiat are numb-nuts, inspite that cover having 25nm torque value itched on it, they have over tightened it to a point beyond it can be opened freely.

I have tried so far, to open while, engine is dead cold, hot~optimal engine temperature opening, prying with a belt opener, 27mm bit etc, nothing seems to work.

any ideas or suggestions are most welcome.

Has anyone experience with the Shell Helix Ultra 550041109 5W-40 API SN Fully Synthetic Car Engine Oil for MJD 1.3 Diesel. As i am going through the reviews the SHELL oil looks to be good replacement for the Celenia. AS my Punto is out of warranty i wanted to try the SHELL oil for better performance and to maintain the engine in good condition.
    ???

I have the same question !!! How to open an overtightened GP oil filter cover. The 27mm socket is slipping off like the 27 mm filter cover is rounded off or something.

What are the options for a DIYer ???
