Today my filter was fitted in dry condition.didnt found any malfunction!
To soak oil filter effectively, Here is the way I think better is first pour 3.2 Liters of engine oil in measure jug then put the new filter in it so as to allow it to soak for 5 minutes and put it in the oil filter casing and then pour the remaining contents of measure cup into the engine.
By following this method we can pour exactly the specified amount of engine oil and oil gets flowing right from second the engine is cranked.
i have a question here, do we need to remove the engine guard to get to the oil drain plug?
No not required.
Not necessary to remove engine guard. Just look for the oil drain plug which looks like this by lifting the car with Jack on the front right wheel Be careful.
Here's the underbody snap and can see the drain plug... inside the engine guard, not required to remove the engine guard you have nice opening around the drain plug area.
Very informative, how do I identify the location of the oil drin. Thanks.
Please, go through the posts properly, before asking, it was mentioned it is under side of your car drain plug pic. posted
since changing the oil filter is also equally important everytime there is an oil change I think we should also give a pictoral representation of how to remove/fit the oil filter as well..
Give me some time I will post pics on this in this same thread
Hey, any updates on this? Would love to do a DIY oil filter change.
