@theblack - Take it to the nearest 3M and ask for the paint protection for old cars. You can opt only for the exterior restoration and leave the interior restoration alone, unless you need it.

Else, you can use any gentle Rubbing Compound as a DIY. Formula 1 is 99% fake in the Indian market so I'd avoid it.

I have used Meguiar's SwirlX and found it to be effective. It is used by hand. The method I used was ONR > SwirlX > Collinite 845 > Collinite 476. The results were quite good.

@theblack: the short answer to your worries - Team Ultimate Detailerz. Make an appointment with them and let them make your car shine like she was on her maiden day. Then, after that, buy a good wax and the ancillaries and start spending doing TLC with your car :)

I have ordered and received my bottle of Megs Ultimate Compound. I intend to remove some very stubborn water marks and light swirls with it. Then some Collinite 845 will be used to seal in the finish. Looking forward to the weekend :)

Weekend was busy with interior cleaning and polishing...
    Product used was Waxpol:-
    VINYL & DASHBOARD POLISH
125 ml bottle for 130 INR.

Applied very thickly to the interior(except steering wheel) and next day wiped it out with dry cloth to remove excess polish.

Now interior have got new look with shine on dashboard and the interior :)

Rituraj Ultimate compound would be a bit abrasive on your paint. Use it with care. It is not very mild rubbing compound.

Cinju, earlier in the thread, I had posted a picture of stubborn water marks on my car paint. Those are Type 2 water marks. Since then, I had been looking for products to help remove those marks. I had contacted Ultimate Detailers, Bangalore for a solution to the problem and they suggested that nothing apart from Megs UC would remove those marks. I understand UC is an aggressive rubbing compound, but in order to remove those water marks a mild polish might not be effective, as the marks have etched into the clear coat.

@Ganges the product is a polish. Don't use it frequently. Do post pics before & after the job. Good luck.
