@ganges: almost all reputed car detailing manufactures have different kinds of tyre dressing compounds in their line up. though I like the shine of new tyre, I have never tried any tyre dressing compounds, so no personal reccos.

@herbie: Thanks for sharing the informative post about tyre detailing. It would have been nice if you included your source URL also, when you copy paste the stuff from other websites.

Well for starters as far as washing goes you can use any soap detergent with mild scrubbing (as soap detergents have the requisite ph value >7 (non acidic)
, you need not go for a branded/bottled/packaged market product. If incase u do opt for a packaged cleaner then its an ideal case scenario:)

But for conditioning one can opt for any of the numerous established brands such as maguires, armor all etc. please reserach before going in for other brands(namely company history/reputation) there are products which are just to give tires a high gloss shine, avoid them, instead opt for tire protectants/conditioners.

Now i may sound a bit snobish by saying to opt for well known brands/comapny history etc  but the weight behind the suggestion is that these products come from a country which has perhaps the most stringent consumer protection norms regarding product launches and even advertisements  and hence the respective country wudnt allow products which might be harmful. Manufacturers have to comply with a lot of liabilities and safety parameters. ( you know how it is in our country.. compliance is just a bribe away....look no further than -the FIATS manufactured here vis a vis parts ;) )

I hope you'll be adding few more items from now Sun. I've a big box now with all detailing products and take it along whenever I go on trips, so anyone accompanying me keep complaining about this.

I'm getting the GTX detailed today with help from linealover, will post before and after pictures.

@Sun that's the Marque D'elegance on the right most side. Did you start using it ? Man it is a wonderful product & one of the hardest to apply & buff. It gives a wonderful result . The Formula 1 products, you got them too from Sanjay ?

Formula1 products I bought from a local shop. I got Marque D'elegance from Sanjay. It is a wonderful product. Applied three times in 18 months. Going to apply the again within two weeks. But a am not doing polishing and claying. Had taken 3M care care when purchased the car.

Teky, Oh that is great. Even I cannot tolerate dirt on my car at long trips. But usually avoid giving to roadside car cleaners who will give free swirl marks and hairline scratches.
