Romsi Maybe I can help you in explaining some of your queries.

    1) I wanted to know, whether TAR which sticks on to the car body gets wiped with this or as usual should we go for a diesel wash?
Yes the clay bar is capable of removing those tar. I have also read that it is not advisable to use diesel for cleaning purpose. (Technical reasons-I am not sure)

    2) What is "MF" cloth???
MF is Micro Fibre cloth. They are very soft cloth & is used mainly in car detailing. (I think rather than me explaining about MF clothes, wikipedia would be the best Link here)

Sungoa: The clay bar is priced around 500+, incl of courier charges. As a first step, try washing your glass with collin or any other glass cleaner.

Agree with you - it is not easy to keep a car swirl free. With jopasu, I think without washing, a duster will last 1 year. I have also heard that they lose the property to pick up dirt if washed, so I do not plan to wash it.

Agree with you about the QD spray - a QD is the easiest way to give shining to your car. Try using ONR to wash the car - it will help you to keep the car swirl free than washing with water+car shampoo.

One doubt - when you have one of the BEST wax products (collinite 845) why and how do you use Turtle wax?

Thank you @Cinju for chipping in :)

    @Romsi: I will try to explain :

Never go for a diesel wash - diesel will ruin the clear coat on the top of the paint. Clay will remove tar stains, but it is not really advisable to clay the car every month. If you have severe issues with tar, get a tar removal spray - they are specially formulated to solve only the tar and they will not harm the paint.

MF - Cinju have given all the details. Please go through that link. 3M Yellow color MF cloths are easily available and priced 99rs for one. There are lot more available in many of the car accessory shops and reliance auto zones.

Wash the car is shade. Never wash the car under hot sun.
When the car is hot or the car is under sun, the water gets dried out pretty fast, leaving the water marks. Now, you may think what is so bd in that - well, if it is only water, it is not that bad. When you wash the car, you pour the water first, then followed by soapy solution to clean the car. If the car is not sufficiently wet, you run the risk of streaking the paint when you try to loosen the dirt particles. When you apply the soapy solution, this will also get dry, leaving lot of marks and streaks behind. So, it is much safer to the paint if you wash the car under a shade.

    Why clean the wheels first.
usually wheels are the dirtiest part to clean. Couple it with break dust from the break pads, you can be sure that no other part gets as much dirty as the wheels. When you clean and wash the wheels first, you take all the dirt out first. During this process, inevitably you will leave lot of debris and remains on your paint. When you follow the wheel wash with a body wash, all these dirt and suds will be cleaned properly and promptly. One more thing - please do not use the cloth you use to clean the wheels to clean your paint.

Do not let the car dry in sun
we can still see dried water patches which is an eye sore.

To avoid water marks. You are seeing water marks because the water is dried under sun. Try washing the car in shade and pat drying the water with a good cloth- you will hardly find any water marks on the dried car :)

I hope I manage to clear some of your doubts. Feel free to ask more. :)

Just one more thing I would like to add regarding MF clothes. Do not use the yellow clothes which you get from Petrol stations. Some are of very cheap quality & they can do more harm than good. It is best recommended to use good quality branded MF towels for drying, waxing etc.

@Kedar: Try reliance auto zone or other good car accessory shops - simoniz, Armourall, autoglym, turtle etc have bug and tar removers. Alternatively, you can also use Mothers California Gold Pre-Wax Cleaner also.

You can order them from www.auto-mall.in. try mailing him (sham) before you place the order. He is a member of TFI, but I do not think he visits the site of late. In an old thread in TFI classifieds, he was talking about giving 10% discount to TFI members.

I have brought stuff from him before but that time I did not knew about the discount. I have mailed him now since I want to pick up some stuff now.

You can also inquire with ultimatedetailerz@gmail.com - they also deal with Mothers range of products.
