Nothing can be done...Snapdeal is an official dealer of Decathlon. What they say, we have to pay.

    Fiat eBike 500.

Fiat Style Center and Compagnia Ducale, a brand marketing company from Italy, presented the eBike 500 at the EICMA 2013. The eBike 500 is for bicycle commuters who want to show their environmental friendliness without missing out on comfort or style.

The eBike 500 is inspired by the Fiat 500L and is transportable inside the trunk of a car. It is equipped with brushless 36V/250W motor that gives it a range of 50 km. Its 20-inch wheels, LED panel equipped handlebar, compact luggage rack that comes standard and lithium ion battery hidden in the frame are the important, if not the only features.
The eBike 500 is presented in a tricolor of green, white and red shades. Fiat plans to begin sales in December in the regions of Europe, Asia and Australia, at a price of 1,299 Euros (1.08 lakh rupees).

Recently went to a cycle shop, checked few models and then inquired about price.
I was amazed to hear and was wondering if I am at cycle shop or motorcycle shop.:jawdrop:

Since I didnt new much of technology involved in cycles, most of the jargons where going over head.
So thought its better to first know what these cycles are about and what all technologies is good to have.

I would appreciate if someone can give details on how to select and cycle and what technologies are good to have.

Start off with a basic model with gears. The one I bought is Decathlon B Twin 5.1 Rockrider which has 18 gears. It'll cost around 8.5k. Its pretty good for beginners. If you want shock ups, then try Btwin 5.1 which costs around 14k. I advice you to go with gears as its really useful.

Prices go up when the built quality, gears, brakes etc changes. For eg: An aluminium frame cycle weighs less but costs more.

Hehehe... guess I'm late at this thread, but those who are thinking bicycle prices are like motorcycle prices havent' seen real bicycles ;) isn't this the same with cell phones now? 50k, 60k!.
Anyway I'm a avid cyclist myself and yes good bikes can price more than cars, infact I own a bike which is pricier than a nano.

The black italian beauty Cinelli is mine. BTW the other bike belongs to my friend (another Fiatian) each costs more than a nano :).
