i will go with 5, 4, 7, 9, 1, 2, 3, 11
The Final Results are out -
Ranking with name & total points.
Petes - 33
Race Dynamics - 28
Race Chip - 26
Unichip - 21
This is a general comparison.
However depending on your order of preference the rankings will change.
For example -
The cheapest is Race chip so it got more points & costliest is unichip so it got less points.
Race chip gave the best mileage while Tunit gave the worst.
If Price & mileage are of high importance then I'll chose Race chip.
In- gear acceleration & 0-60 are best in pete's so I'll chose pete's if I drive only in city & performance is my only importance.
So if some 1 wants an advice to purchase a tuning box please mention order of importance for the following parameters.
We'll be able to give you the closest match for you.
Acceleration figures 0-60
Acceleration figures 0-100
Acceleration figures 0-150
Sorry!!! Forgot to add price.
@Probiker - The whole community appreciates the effort you have put into this.
Could you also provide little more details on the points each of the box got, by metrics.
Also was the difference between 1st and 2nd was huge or it was just a minor difference.
If you have taken the pain of reviewing all boxes for professional/commercial reasons, then I can understand not sharing the information here!
With price as your first preference
Company ------ Price -------- Points
Petes --------- Rs. 28,000.00 -------- 24
Race Dynamics --- Rs. 24,000.00 ----------- 21
Race Chip ------- Rs. 17,000.00 ------ 21
@probiker, you forgot to add one category - "Long term effect on engine and turbo''
Also, kindly enlighten me on how you measured differences in 'pollution' by the car with various boxes?
The race chip costs 13.5K not 17k
@gurjinder Paaji- I really don't find in any excess smoke coming out of the exhaust. Even when you rev it till 5000Rpm, no such black smoke..
black smoke does not mean lessened life span of engine.
it means more soot or unburnt carbon coming out..
that is negligible.
my dad did 1 lakh kms in logan with petes and no difference with any other logan..
He must have mentioned the prices of the PRO version and not the normal one
Currently running my ride with race chip and K&N stock replacement filter
covered only 1200 km's so far, so hard to tell the impact on turbo and engine, but keeping it on normal setting and driving wont have any adverse effects on either of the two considering u get the servicing done regularly.
but I DO NOT rule out the fact that yes in the long run some issues might creep up
Also alot depends on how u use the box's performance, I for instance like it for the better driveability in the initial 2 gears and also the fact that pulling the car feels alot less strained and easier to drive
can you throw more light on this thing..
I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=17.352942,78.571809
certainly can, there are two versions that one can opt for in race chip
2. RaceChip pro
Following are the stats
Power(PS) = 75 to 94
Torque(NM) = 190 to 255
Power(PS) = 75 to 97
Torque(NM) = 190 to 268
so overall there is a difference of 3(ps) and 13(nm) of power and torque respectively between the normal and pro version but the price difference is even significant -
For 90bhp it is as follows
Power(PS) = 90 to 114
Torque(NM) = 200 to 267
Power(PS) = 90 to 118
Torque(NM) = 200 to 280
RaceChip = 13-14k(variation due to duty)
RaceChip Pro = 18-19k(variation due to duty)
