Coastal drive with my Linea

Just back after visiting Rameshwaram, Tanjore and Tranquebar. This was a quick visit to these places in just 3 days. Sharing few teaser pictures before I start the travelogue/photologue.

That is State Highway (SH 146) somewhere near the town Pattukottai.

I have never drove to Rameshwaram in my Linea and has always been in my radar. Finally, I decided to do this trip on the long weekend of 11-14th Jan. My initial plan was to start early in the morning of 11th (Saturday). The Chennai meet on evening of 10th went on and on till 1 AM on 11th and I was able to go to sleep only at 2.30 AM. The plan to start early in the morning was dropped. Also, linealover also was willing to join with me but he had some personal works till midday on 11th. Finally, our drive started at 5 PM in the evening. It became really painful to get out of Chennai on that day due to heavy traffic movement. Initially, I planned to drive towards the East Coast Road to reach Rameshwaram. But, I decided to do through Trichy because of our late start. We broke at Villupuram for Dinner and passed Trichy by 10.30 PM and it was 2 AM when we reached Rameshwaram.

We spent the whole day at Rameshwaram on 12th and linealover has to leave for Chennai by evening due to his official works. I decided to stay back and do Thanjavur and Tharangambadi on 13 and 14th and drive by East Coast Road to reach my home in Chennai.

This was the route done. Chennai-Trichy-Karaikudi-Rameshwaram-Pattukottai-Thanjavur-Nagore-Tharangambadi-Pondicherry-Chennai.
