Can we fit a bull bar to Grande Punto? The bull bar on XUV 500 with DRL is simply awesome. This is just for aesthetic looks.

Bull bars look good for SUVs but for hatchbacks it will surely look awkward.
Apart from aesthetics, It is not safe to have bull bars because in case of frontal collision, the impact would be transferred to the pasengers directly.

Also it might come in way of air bag sensors. Your Punto is a head turner without any add ons. Don't worry :p

Anyways airbags won't activate at low speeds.if the collision is at high speeds then definitely in the fraction of secs the bull bars also gets deformed with front bumper.Any reference where exactly the airbag sensors are located?

Here are the down sides of adding a bull bar.

You will need welding on the front cross-member bar, leading to rusting in the long run.

Added weight at front over hang = heavier steering and nose diving under heavy braking.

Vibration and other things coming loose over time.

The pedestrian who faces collision with this bull bar will suffer severe injuries/death.

This Completely defeats the purpose of impact absorbing ability, that is designed by the manufacturer to save lives. This is as per govt. regulations all around the world.

probably we dont realize it, but punto is already a terribly heavy car, this is with regards to power to weight ratio!, and its got a 1248cc engine. So you will be putting in un-necessary stress on the engine and chassis.

The only plus I see is asthetics, and false sense of security. May be at the very best will save your bumper from scratching while in city, that's all.

EDIT: In case of accident you might have tough time convincing insurance companies, as they may deny claim due to after market accessory addition.

So, pros vs cons, not a very good idea IMHO.

The car is designed to crash and absorb forces in a certain way to keep passenger compartment safe. Bull bar could also have unpredictable results. Definitely do not install bull bar for all the mentioned and valid reasons above.
