Doesn't it show Ganges how much FIAT had to bribe these magazines to get a proper review of their cars?
I almost had cramps in my guts while laughing when i was reading Autocar article for Linea MJD.
They gave Linea MJD 0-100 timings a full fledged awesome fantastic .....18 Secs:D!!!
    Linea owner's, are you listening?

    Linea 1.3
I know. I know. Anyone who haven't driven a Linea will not get to know that it is false.

Autocar is also famous for declaring ANHC as winner when they reviewed T-Jet, ANHC and Vento Petrol.

Ramjn, I know T Jet has to be one goddamn curse of speed & performance. There is hardly to write home for Vento Petrol when their 100kgs lighter Polo/Fabia's 1.6's are hardly a case??
But Honda's 1.5 ltr into ANHC, man that's some engine. Now i can hardly imagine that engine in the monstrous Linea, but it really makes ANHC fly. Man! Such a shove! Believe me, had they been nice enough to give ANHC some high speed stability & good braking, this is one hack of a petrol-head. Man it got 160 in less than 17 secs. Now that was hardly 700-800 Mts of free stretch. I think even with some odd bicycles in vision, i won't dare to check 0-120 in city but it was rocket!! In-fact perfect car for a drag. It will absolutely lick up Cruze, Altis & Civic too on an empty stretch.

However, in comparison with T Jet & that awesome top range again, obviously it's just engine that's stands anywhere for City otherwise picture is totally dark.

Vento 1.6, however has just been stuffed here through people's throat making Linea/ANHC as a taste-maker. That's hardly a comparison. These 2 cars are just damn too fast for Vento. Sorry, they could talk about some sheet being prepared in 0-100,100-120,220-330 but that's hardly eligible. Linea & city will absolutely disappear to Vento even in 0-120 km/hr range. I think the point of "Autocar" was to put Vento in TJ/City territory where it doesn't belong to performance-wise! It's very smartly placed here. People banging each other over T Jet/VTEC supremacy forgets that they have unknowingly accepted Vento 1.6 to be a genuine competitors of these cars in their subconscious:mrgreen:.

By the way, i personally believe that 90HP is slower than Linea MJD. 90HP is 100% 13 sec at least in 0-100. Try your linea some day, you may end up 12-13 secs. Don't have the headache of holding a stop watch. Just cover the sprint with a video camera. Analyze it's 0-100 timings on video editing software. Like beginning frame sharp@0km/hr & end frame@100km/hr. Video editors gives you correction up-to Milli secs:up. It will be 98-99% correct if not 100%.

    Linea 1.3
You are absolutely right ENKI. 90HP is indeed slower than Linea MJD. I am saying this because I have driven 15k Kms on a 90HP before switching over to Linea MJD. I really don't know the reason. Linea is differently tuned or something like that. Yes, again I am damn sure that my Linea MJD can do 0-100 in 12-13 secs. I totally agree with you.

It's purposely done dear. Obviously they don't want the exact performance of a big sedan in lower hatch model. Also thanks to the Indian Prejudice of "Sedan" being better than a hatchback in every aspect which compelled FIAT to do trim some wings of 90HP. I wonder if that could be the case for Pablo 1.6 (Polo+Fabia) too. Though Pablo 0-100 timings are not inferior by a second like 90HP/Linea case but doesn't supersede either even after adding 100 KGs boot to Vento/Rapide.

You do check the 0-100 timings though. Just stick your camera with double-tape somewhere in the cabin for a nice view & have 4-5 different attempts. Analyze all of them on video editing software & keep it as a collection:cool:.

ENKI, Fiat might not have have done it purposefully. It is also possible that the power/torque available to wheels are slightly more for Linea.

Sungoa, I hardly know why, but Linea is noticeably faster. I think for 0-100 timings, anything around 1 sec. or more can be noticed by the driver if he pays close attention on the acceleration he is getting.
To my amazement, Linea is noticeably faster in 0-100 km/hr. I don't know what's the story after 100 but at best it looks like 90 HP could only manage to be equivalent to Linea even after 100 KG addition. May be that's why it becomes different car in above 100km/hr range. That's awkward, isn't it?

Now if 90HP's were exact tuned stage of Linea, It could surely be at least equal to all these petrol cars in 0-120 range where it is loosing a couple of secs advantage right now:A. I am damn sure about this.

Now assume Punto with Tjet. Does it mean that Punto Tjet will be slower than Linea Tjet?
How was the performance of good old Palio and Petra with same engine?
