Blue & Me Software Version update & All other queries

Are you able to install EcoDrive post update to BnM 7.0? Any 2013 T-Jet owner able to install EcoDrive?

 

I tried to install b&M 7.0 in my linea which has a 2nd generation Blue&ME. There was no specific reason to download the update but just the notion that newer is better. Also, I faced problems with few soundtracks where Linea B&M just did not recognize the soundtrack other than the first song in the folder.

1) I used the option autoconfigurator where i had to insert a pendrive into the car with a file downloaded from net. Post that a BMCONFIG file is created in the pendrive which is required to be uploaded online. If you open the file in .txt, you should see your model in the text next to car type. Otherwise you can manually add the car model in the text file.

2) After uploading the file with the car model, B&M site prompts to download a file to be installed into the pendrive in root folder. The update takes fairly long with radio turning on & off in between. Fiat software installation is not smooth & I got a config 10 error & the language got changed to italian. I tried numerous times but got the same error.

3) Then reinstalled the configurator file into the car & got a new BMCONFIG file. On Uploading the file, I got a different link of the 7.0 software( possibly with italian language). I changed the pendrive & also formmatted it as per fat (old)system. This time i was lucky & was able to install the software 7.0 but with italian language.

4) Then I searched the net & found a resource for changing the language in the car.Blue and Me

5) After instaling the English Language pack I was able to update my Linea to Blue&me 7.0 with English language.
6) I did not notice any big difference in the update but I feel it is more stable now. Also all the songs which never got detected in the earlier version can now be played easily.

 

How can I check Blue & Me version of my car? I have Linea and based on some of the Google search I have second gen blue and me (APP-ID available). How can I check the version? I updated the version today with whatever available on blueandmedotnet (could be 7.0).

Regarding the 7.0 update for Punto, it wasn't easy. Blue and me website doesn't allow you to download updates like before. We need to upload our car's configuration file (BMConf.xml) to get the latest update. However, when I uploaded my car's config file nothing happened. Had to modify the CarType field to Grande Punto for downloading the 7.0 update.

Haven't found any significant changes till now. Eco-drive doesn't work on Punto yet

I own a 2013 Tjet. I Suppose I have BnM ver5.6. I would like to know how I can update to software version 7 as I am unable to get any update using the blue and me auto configurator option. Does anybody have the dowloaded files here? ver 6 and ver 7 ?

I hate the system already for its extremely crappy speakers but now I am tearing my head apart as my usb is not detected (fat 32, 8gb) and I just cant seem to work with a system that is so unnecessarily complicated!!

Did you try another usb drive? If yes, you can try disconnecting the Blue&Me unit to give it a restart (after all it's running Windows (Automotive)).
BMConf.xml may not have the 'cartype' field with a valid entry. Just update it to Linea and give a try. Have a look at my previous post.

I am trying to update the BNM on my Punto. I was able to complete the first step i.e to download the MConf.xml. Modified the CarType and downloaded the update from the site. But, when I try to update by connecting the USB to the car, I get an error saying "Update Error 10".

I wanted to provide a quick update. I had issues with my Blue and me not recognising USB drive or Ipod. I managed to get it reset by removing the negative terminal of the battery. Also since i had gone to Fiat Service Center they provided an update.

The USB and Ipod functions were working fine. However since I knew that BnM 7.0 is around I tried updating that. Made a simple change to the XML file - either "Grande Punto" or "Linea" works and gives you the same file. Followed the instructions and updated the system. No major changes visible but I think the system reads my 8gb Ipod touch quicker than before. The car in question is 2013 linea.

Can someone upload and share the latest blue n me update, please? I tried the steps mentioned in blueandme.net, and nothing happens when I upload the configurator file. No reaction at all I tried in various browsers too. Please help!
