Blue & Me Software Version update & All other queries

Now blueandme.net forces us to use the auto configuration utility which makes it mandatory to upload the BMconf.xml obtained from the car. But, it doesn't seem to work perfectly. It identifies 2nd generation BluenMe unit as 1st generation

 

Instead of giving the xml file, is it ok and works if the actual software zip file is uploaded for us here?

 

Sure that would help but someone must volunteer to experiment it on their blue and me setup
Most importantly, the blue and me update for Linea and Punto are different. I'd rather prefer to wait and see if blueandme.net fixes the problem.

@Abhinit, Could you post the configuration ID and BD addr fields from you .xml file, or you can copy paste the entire xml contents here.

 

How do you know if it's a first gen or second gen from the xml only?

@zenwalker: I could do that, but if you upload the xml file then it'll download from the site. If we can upload 1 40mb document here on TFI then I'll do it, or I'll host it to some other place, whatever works.

Ok may be ill try updating in a weeks time and hopefully by then they would have fixed it. The last time i did for 6.0, it started showing me 5.0 and 5.6 updates. I dont think my car which is off june 2013 make has such a old B&M version preinstalled.

You did select Punto in the B&M site na?

 

I downloaded Blue&me 7.0 in my Linea t-jet+ about a fortnight ago. Took some time (5-8 minutes) to get installed. Now the media player is able to detect certain songs in the storage device that it couldn't detect earlier. Seems they have now made it compatible to a range of bit-rates. Even the pairing with phone has improved. Moreover, it seems (not sure) that the media player now gets switched off whenever we turn the ignition off. Earlier the music-system used to start with media-player as soon as the ignition was turned on whereas, now it takes a few seconds (plays tuner in that time) and then starts playing the media-player.


I have experienced higher frequency of call-drops after the upgrade. It's difficult to believe that hands-free system can affect network so, I will put the blame on Airtel. Has anybody else upgraded to Blue&me 7.0 and experienced issues with call-connectivity?

 

@Biraj: I don't use it much for calling and all, but will try and let you know if it goes on for some time

I've noticed that the car plays tuner / cd only when it's building a library of all the songs and that is why it must have taken some time for you. I couldn't notice it, but will also let you know about it.

 

In my car, no matter what every time i activate the B&M to make a call (pressing steering key) the volumne of B&M lady voice is very feeble. I have to increase it every time. Checked the BnM manual, no sign of any such settings to set a default volume. So any idea guys?

 

^^ Switch on radio, press menu on the HU, scroll to "External Volume" and increase it to your liking.
