Blue & Me Software Version update & All other queries

Thanks Aerial. I uploaded the configuration.xml and the download link shown was that for 5.6/5.6. It is clearly mentioned in the installation document that ver 6.0 is meant for 2012 units only. Some users who have written the contents of their configuration.xml files here, the file clearly doesn't show the car type; maybe that's the reason it shows config error. In my case it says car type Linea and of course the code is different.

I did try to update to 6.0 (jugaad), but config:error threw the jugaad out. FAQ is very clear, If you have Image ID in system settings, you are using a 2012 unit and are eligible to upgrade to ver 6.0, else, don't worry be happy.

 

I tried with three more pen drives.The result is same.usb error 10.lost hope.

I am getting Image ID in system settings.Hence mine is second generation b&m and is eligible for the update to v6.0.Also ariels have stated already that his car is july 2011 make.so this update is not only for 2012 vehicles but for all second generation b&m equipped vehicles.

 

We have May 2011 T-JET+ and updated to 6.00 successfully.
Steps:
1>Check presence of Image ID (note it down).
2>Download 6.00 at root of fat 32 USB.
3>Plugged in to car USB
4>Once completed (if update complete is displayed)..check the image id again...it should be changed from what you have at step 1.

I own Jun 2011 Linea (make March 2011). I managed to update the software successfully. The image id was earlier D021 (? dont remember exactly) and now it is E033P. When it recognized the updates files, it started the with a voice "update started". The update process is really confusing though.
1. Update started and MID showing "Update". No sound from Radio
2. The msg. vanished after some time and Radio started. I waited but was clueless
3. Again after some time the status changed to "Updating" and Radio stopped
4. Radio started and updating message gone
5. Waited for some time and then again was confused with the process as there was progress indicator
6. A new msg. was visible saying "Installing"
7. After a while a message "Complete" was shown on MID

I was waiting for the voice confirmation when the install completed. During update the "Menu" or "Call" button does not react. Though the upgrade guide warns on not pressing any buttons, I ended up doing that as there were times when I was not sure what was going on. I hope this helps who plan on installing the update.

The installation put a log.txt in the USB. Here is the output from log file.

 

Those who have upgraded to ver 6.0, are there any visible changes for a lay user?

 

I am vivek. hey ariels i am having same problem as vignesh is having. Mine is a punto 90 hp june 2011. I have checked the b&m version, image id is present there, it means its second gen. b&m.

BTW, is eco-drive working on yours now.

I was also able to update my 1 week old Punto Sport with 6.0 update.

Formatted my pendrive in FAT32 and copied the content of Aggiornamento_BlueMe_12_3_UK.zip which i downloaded from the blue n me website.

Steps followed:
1. Slotted the USB in and Turned the ignition key to the MAR-ON position, WITHOUT STARTING THE CAR
2. MID displayed the message: " UPDATING " and followed by the voice command "update started"
3. Also saw a message "Installing"
4. And then a message "Complete" was shown on MID

The process was exactly same as @sly.cooper mentioned above.

After the 6.0 update, i tried indtalling ECORIVE which was NOT successful.

Steps:
1. Installed ecodrive on my PC
2. After launching ecodrive on PC it asks to plugin a USB drive
3. It installed ecodrive on the USB
4. Then to install eco drive, follow the same step how one upgrades Blue n Me

But sadly this didn't work for me . It gave me USB Error:10 and a voice stating "Check USB content"

 

Upgraded Blue & Me to version 6.0 successfully...

Eco drive installation not successful in the first attempt. Will try with another version.

In the mean time - message reader started working. Now my Blue & Me reads message received in my mobile.

Mobile Model - Nokia E 5

 

I contacted fiat for the ecodrive installation failure, i got a call from FIAT india today and they said they dont officially support ecodrive feature in india hence they won't encourage customer to install ecodrive.
