yup tht was me.. thanks man...
yes did try connecting it with only one song.. it only makes a sound, thts made during data/power connection. nothing else.
B&M works perfectly fine with USB drive n even with my phone. all the artist/genre/album stuff n all work fine.. i jus wanted to connect my itouch..

if the company had given the update only for old gen ipods.. it would be useless as the old ones worked perfectly even without a update. the company claims to have solved the prob of buying the adapter. surprisingly doesn work with mine

 

pradz Fiat doesn't mention that Ipod Adaptor is not required now after applying 5.5 update.

ya but the Link does say tht this update is not available for Linea.. dont Linea n Gp have exactly same audio system n Blue&ME?

Which I think don't apply to Indian made GP and both linea and GP have same blue n me in India.

 

well but ppl have been claiming tht they can connect thier itouch without the adapter.. then how do u think they are able to do it?? m puzzled.. something wrong with my B&M/itouch or they are lying bout it!

 

Some clarifications:
Blue&Me works absolutely fine with any hard-disk (HDD and Flash) based iPods that run the iPod operating system (I think that's pretty much all iPods except the iPhone and iPod Touch). The reason these don't (yet) work is because they are essentially computers rather than iPods, and they run the Mac operating system - OSX.

You'll need a dock-connector-to-usb cable to plug your iPod into the B&M socket.

The only exception or caveat to the above, is that the iPod must be formatted with a Windows disk format. That means the iPod must be set up in iTunes on Windows. If you have a PC, that should be no problem. If you have a Mac, you'll need to borrow a friend's PC to format your iPod. Once you've done this, simply plug your iPod back into your Mac, and it will re-sync all your songs.

Now to bust the myth about song formats! Blue&Me is capable of playing many, many file types - including mp3, wmv, wav, mp4 and aac. Many people think that you cannot play songs bought in iTunes, or aac files over B&M - this is not true. You cannot play DRM protected songs from iTunes (and these happen to be aac files). However, you can play any iTunes-bought song in the iTunes+ format (DRM free, but also aac files). In fact, (almost) all iTunes files are now iTunes+ since the abolition of DRM protection in iTunes.

There is also a myth that aac is some kind of Apple proprietary format for songs - again this untrue. Aac is an open source audio format which in many respects is superior to wmv and mp3 its just that it is not as popular as MP3. Hope this helps.

I have a iTouch 3G version 4.2, i use XP. so does that mean my iTouch is in windows disk format?? if it is, i still am not able to connect it to B&M... am i missing something here??? :confused

 

Has anybody been able to stream the audio from ,say a video being played in their phone, to the car speakers.
I am not able to achieve this or even the voice navigation I would have loved to stream through the car speakers .
I use a google nexus one android phone.

Sadly Blue N Me doesn't support A2DP streaming. Bluetooth streaming would have been a very good feature if present in Blue N Me. I have emailed fiat italy about adding this feature but I didn't received any reply from them regarding this.
