Blue & Me Software Version update & All other queries

hey guys i have a problem since i got my car repaired after an accident . my blue and me is not working both the call and the window key are not responding all other buttons are working except these . can anyone please help me .?? whats wrong??

 

Yesterday, I updated my Blue & Me to v 5.5 from the link provided in this thread (a few pages before).

Process: I copied the contents (6 files) of the zip to the root of a 1gb memory stick (without creating any folders). Connected it to usb when key is in stop position. Turned key to MAR position. A voice said that update is in progress. In 5 minutes, the update was completed.

Results: I was able to play songs from memory stick. My iphone was also getting connected, calls list seen, phone book loading etc.

issue: The bluetooth was seen disconnecting after a few seconds. I noticed this while phonebook was loading. It ended abruptly. Therafter, when I tried making a call thru bluetooth also, initially i was seeing it as connected in my iphone screen. but as i saw, it became disconnected automatically. (For me bluetooth with iphone for calling was working perfectly before this update, though playing/selecting songs from ipod in iphone was not)

My intention behind this update was, playing+selecting songs from ipod in iphone, as it was told in the update help pdf that "this update is not recommended if there is no need of listening to songs from new gen iphone ipod"

Anyone facing similar issue either with iphone or any other phone, after this update- or previously.

Reset the Blue N Me by disconnecting "-" ve terminal from battery for 30 minutes.
If this doesn't work ask the dealer to do proxy alignment and check wiring of switches.

After a few more tries, I got blue and me calling working yesterday! But still, whatever was expected- playing from iphone/ipod directly after the version upgrade, is not working.
As soon as pairing was done, it asks for phone book copy, and when i selected yes, it used to disconnect automatically. This time I deferred the copy process. Later after a few minutes, seeing the bluetooth connection as stable, I manually started the copy process. It worked.

The iPhone requires the adapter to make it work. Only the iPods can be directly connected to make it work. Also I never had trouble pairing my phone or copying the phonebook into the car. By any chance is your phone jailbroken?

P. S - Do you stay somewhere near Tambaram, I've spotted this exotic blue often.

 

hey found an intresting thing my phone can be used as mediaplayer and for calling all at the same time . i use nokia n85. its great . does anyone elses phone work as both altogether?

 

yes it can be done on Symbian OS phones. (That's the only positive point for symbian OS).

Can you pls elaborate on how we can use the phone as the media player and as a phone through blue and me? I had not tried it yet, and I use an E63 on my GP. Is it as simple as just playing your songs on your mobile while yuo are connected to B&M?
