Blue & Me Software Version update & All other queries

    mine is 1st gen. It gets charged but havent tried to play it as it was totally out of charge. will try tomorrow and report back

    There is a new feature that I discovered on the Blue & Me recently and its happened with me twice already. It goes like this :

    I get a call from someone =>I keep talking to the person thru' Blue and Me ==> I accidentally switch off the Engine ===>I continue to converse on the Car Speakers even after switching off the Engine. ::OO

    I do not understand how this can be possible since logically the Blue&Me should get deactivated once I switch of the Engine completely. :confused and since its happened with me twice, I think it could be an inherent feature of the system ??

    Has any TFIan experienced this before ?

    Everything is connected with Battery only.
    you can switch on the audio system and get calls too :)

    I have noticed that the Blue&Me pairing with the phone gets disconnected after 2-3 seconds of switching off the car if we are not talking. Now I guess it is because Blue&Me does not get deactivated as soon as switching off the engine and taking out the key. It makes sure that no phone call is taking place.

    Nice discovery!! :clap I was thinking that all possible features must have been discovered by now.

    A query to all those using ver 5.5 :anyone
    If you say "inbox", what reply does the car give exactly? Does it say the precise following line:
    "No message in vehicle memory". Does it use the word, vehicle memory?
    If you haven't checked, please check it by saying help/message reader/inbox.

    Seems few guys were lucky and abel to upgrade to 5.5 version. I have tried 5/6 times this upgrade and it failed. Morons at TASS also could not upgrade it.

    It depends on Phone. I've Nokia 6265 & it has its limitations in this feature. In B&M Phone book it shows only 1 phone number against 1 name (even though there are more numbers for that name in my phone) whereas in case of other phones, B&M Phone-book shows multiple Phone number against 1 name.

    When someone calls, his name or number is shown on MID. When I call someone dialing from B&M phonebook, MID shows name/ phone number of recipient. When I call someone dialing from my Phone, MID shows "PRIVATE NUMBER". All these are due to my phone Nokia 6265.

    I already have B&M v5.5. When B&M box was replaced 3-4 months back, the new box came with v 5.5 in Italian language ! It shows "Random" instead of "Play anything". And when you stop media player by voice command, it says "Stopped" instead of "Playback stopped" earlier.

    Is the link above of B&M v5.5 the same as original version 5.5 & if not, does it have anything extra over original 5.5 ?

    Sorry. Again, my phone does not support Message Reader. Most of the Sony Errickson phones support Message Reader.

    PS: Am getting Black Berry 8530 on Monday. Lemme see if I get any additional B&M features activated in it though am not much hopeful. (From Monday, my car will be at TASS for 2-3 days, won't be able to check Black Berry with B&M)

    @VP- Yes. Even I can't use SMS Reader as it is not compatible. But when someone say inbox, it says "no message in the vehicle memory" if the inbox is empty.

    I don't want that after upgrade to v5.5, it just says "inbox empty" or something. I want to ensure that it says the 2 words "vehicle memory". :lol: ::V

    LOL at vehicle memory :D However, saying inbox empty will be a wrong statement by LaLina as the inbox on the phone may not be empty. So if it says "inbox empty" it will be a technical foul :D
