Had wonderful appams and veg stew in Hotel Classic Fort, Pettah, Tripunithura. The whole breakfast served was amazing.

Briyani and Fish items in Hotel Cassia, on the shore of Allepey beach. Fish items were pricey, but they were very tasty.

Sandeep, when I had dined in an hotel in Kerala, the water served was coloured, pink I think, think it's jeera water, was just curious if people at home also drink the same.

Thats not jeera water, it will be golden/yellowish color, the one you are referring to will be mostly 'karingali' water or they put a bark of a tree which is normally called 'patta/pathimugham' or something like that..

Its not jeera water...Jeera water is green in color.. Its known as 'Pathimugham', which is pink in color & doesn't have any taste. Pathimugam is a tree. We add pieces it while boiling water. Also there is another powder named 'karingali' which is brown in colour & has a special taste to it. Both these have medicinal values too.. :)
