I purchased my Punto in March 2013 and got my first service fine at exactly 6 months.
After 4-5 weeks of first service, the engine immobilizer light started coming up. Ignored the same for 2-3 weeks, and saw 'ebd failure check handbook' twice.

So took my car to the service station and found that the battery had died. Fortunately, I hope, they checked why the battery had died in such a short time, and found that the current was leaking through one of the electrical components. After a day of checking they found that BCM was draining the battery. They replaced the battery and will replace the BCM in a week's time, for which they haven't closed the job card yet.

Wanted to know if anyone has seen this before or is it extremely rare?

Must be a one off case. Since it's being replaced, all will be well :)

    Cheers.
