    Punto/Linea Battery

    TFIans

Whats the Ah rating of the battery in Punto?. Is it 45Ah? Nowadays in my Punto the cranking time has got a bit longer (signs of weakening battery). I have topped up the distilled water twice already in a gap of around 4 months.
Does Amaron/Tata-green have batteries suitable for Punto?. I dont believe in Exide. Please list out the model no and approx price if you have replaced your OE battery which will be useful for others also.

    Thanks
    Kiran

    Kiran,
How do you check water level in battery? I haven't checked even once.
    Any pictures would be great.

its very simple. take a big headed screw driver and open and then pull by fingers the 4 cover of the cells.

peep inside and see the water level.

use very good quality distilled water and top up each cell. make sure you do not overfill and spill the acid out.

Better use a 1 rupee coin. screwdriver can damage the head as its plastic. Mine drank a lot of water first time. Felt it was very thirsty .lol

    Hi Amol,

Hope your logic to be correct, but never do this kind of things in your CAR.

Every part is not upgradable. So as the battery.

Every manufacturer (fiat, Maruti, Tata...) is having different starter motor and different ratings. Ah rating of the battery depends upon

    1) minimum & Max. crank required.
    2) Max. & Min clod crancking
    3) Starter rating
    4) Engine CC capicity.
    5) Electricals current carring capacity.
    6) All electricals and electronics wattage.
    7) Charging current given by Alternator
    and many more such factors.

If FIAT has rated the battery to be 50 ah, then do not change it to 65Ah or 70ah. This will blow up your fuse, alternator and other electrical parts.

Yes you can go for the higher warranty, which is offered in AMARON and EXIDE.

    Recommend
    1)AMARON
    2) EXIDE

Any help regading this you can be in touch.

    Hi KIRAN,

Yes AMARON have batteries for FIAT. They supply to all the OEM and have a preffered vendor tag.

You can get AMARON from their retailer i.e PIT STOP (please visit website)
Never go for TATA Green, as they are struggling with the product & replacement is a big issue.
Price can be in between 5K to 7K, depending upon your local taxes, and warranty.

Any help you can put me a mail.

My battery also showing some sign of weakness, the cranking in morning takes much more time now a days.
I checked the battery and it looks 12v44Ah. Looks the specification is not consistent.

Anybody has idea of good Amaron battery shop in Bangalore?
