I need to top up the battery with some de-ionized water. But can't find the spanner to remove either the fastener belt to slightly dislodge the battery or the positive terminal connector going across one of the cells. the rest are ok and accessible and can be topped up.

what should I do, should I use a 10 mm spanner to loosen the fastener belt and slightly move the battery or should I disconnect the terminal cable to access the particular cell. Pls advice.

My OE battery Exide DIN50MF, started showing the signs of aging, i.e. showing airbag failure message on MID. The airbag failure warning on the MID is not regular, however, I though it is better to replace the OE battery with a better specification one and this had already served me a good 3 years 6 months and the mileage during this time is 37200+ Kms.

Here are pictures of outgoing OE battery.

I want to replace this battery with a 60Ah one and started searching around for a good replacement. After going through the battery upgrade thread and offline enquiries I decided to replace it with a amaron make battery.

The new one is Amaron Flo battery with 60Ah rating, Cold cranking Amps of 600A and with a reserve capacity of 110 minutes. Part number(ETN) of the selected battery is AAM-FL-566 112 060. It comes with a total warranty of 48 months out of which 24 months is replacement warranty and 24 months is a pro-rata one. I manage to get this new one for Rs.5,100/-, after trading the old battery.

I felt that old battery can be used for some more time and the same is supported from the above voltage readings, how-ever, I don't want to stress the starter motor and decided to change.

To Fit the new battery, the tab on the battery compartment needs to be removed. And, the new battery takes the whole space on the battery tray.

During search for new battery, I came across some interesting information regarding din numbering system replaced by european type number system. I thought it is useful to share it here. Check the following link for a nice information.

My stock Exide battery lasted 2 years. It was not used but abused, car off blower use, music system with car off, 45degrees of chadigarh to 2 degree in 24 hrs, excessive cold starts, so i say stock was good.
So after 72000 kms it finally died.
Bought new one AMRON 66DIN (566101061) i think its 66AH/60AH, size is bigger than stock and fills the whole battery bay.
Got it for 4200rs after negotiations and with old battery exchange. All with bill and warranty, looks like decent deal.

@mvb4u @singh , good to see you both opting for the DIN 66, 60 AH ones from Amaron. I have the same in my Linea for last one year and they are doing good.

^^ As you have seen in the thread, most of them have positive reviews / experience regarding Amaron 55 AH batteries which is a worthy upgrade from the stock 50AH batteries and more powerful ones are 60AH. Depends on your usage.

Today changed battery with 566112060 AMARON FLO.Costed me 4550 after exchange with the original EXIDE.
    Purchased from INDO RADIAL CLUB,BHAWANIPUR,KOLKATA.

Old battery lasted for 51700 km & 37 months. There was still some juice left in it but I did not take any risk as the mercury is dropping and the battery had started showing it's weakness during morning cold start.
