Ravi, between barhi and patna, I have heard the better route is via Gaya and Jahanabad!!

^^ the better to divert at Dobhi, not at Barhi.

What is your plan? Please share.

    Plan (Tentative)

Total days alloted for the the trip : 10 day
28th Sept - Leave blr , reach Vizag
29th Sept - Leave Vizag, Reach durgapur
30th Sept - Leave Durapur , Reach Katmandu

1st Oct - 4th Oct :: See as much of Nepal as follows
    5th - 7th : Return , preferably over the same route.

Please note this is the plan i'm having . I've not gone in detail as I'm still yet to decide the routes properly

Also, for returning, you can use the route given by shams, via Nagpur. You can save some time.

Any ideas about 3G access in these parts?
I have a gut feeling that I might rely on Gmaps enroute so want to know if i can have 3G access or is anyone ready to lend me there MMI ;-)

According to your plan if you drive for 15hrs a day you can cover in three days but here is a catch - depends on road conditions and climate and other factors. I strongly suggest you carry maps (hard copies) with you all in if at some point can't catch up with network ..

    Yes that's the plan.
Once the routes are all finalized I"m going to keep at least 2 xeroxes of all necessary docs including maps and enroute infos that I've written down thus far!

theblack, you may need to keep sufficient buffer time due to unexpected delays at interstate borders/regional issues leading to blockades.
And it would be worth to take a look at safety issues one may face while driving on Bihar/MP/Jharkhand roads.
Things may have changed lot from what we have in many of the forums which describe some unsafe roads in that region.

I have taken precautions as much as possible. I'm looking at all the festivals that are celebrated in different states at what time via google.
I'm going to drive only in day time so that is a bit safe to say the least.
Apart from these , its just luck that's all i guess
