Bangalore-Nagpur-Agra-Delhi-Jaipur-UdaipurMtAbu-PalitanaPune

I am planning a two-week long family trip Bangalore-Nagpur-Agra-Delhi-Jaipur-Udaipur-MountAbu-Bhavnagar-Palitana-Pune-Bangalore in my Fiat Linea during November 2010. Myself and my son will do the driving part.

Tentative schedule:

Day 1 - Bangalore to Nagpur and halt

Day 2 - Nagpur to Agra and halt

Day 3 - Taj Mahal/Agra Fort

Day 4 - Agra to Delhi and halt

Day 5 - Delhi

Day 6 - Delhi

Day 7 - Delhi to Jaipur and halt

Day 8 - Jaipur-Udaipur-Mount Abu & halt

Day 9 - Mount Abu/Dilwara temple & halt

Day 10 - Mount Abu to Bhavnagar/Palitana and halt

Day 11 - Palitana

Day 12 - Palitana to Pune & halt

Day 13 - Pune to Bangalore

The schedule is hectic. If necessary, I may extend by a day or two or cut short the places depending upon the circumstances.

Please help me with all the details that you have regarding the latest condition of the road, best route to be followed for a low GC sedan, hotels/eateries/lodgings, important spots that should not be missed in these places, etc. I shall reserve for our accommodation at Ginger Hotels, New Delhi [Vivek Vihar] and Pune Wakad. For the remaining places, kindly suggest good places for stay/eating [vegetarian].

That's pretty hectic schedule Ravi. Drive safe. Can't advise you on road conditions etc... on the above route though.

Yes, Kapil. I know the schedule is very hectic. This is my wish-list. But, as I said, we will drop some places to suit our timing.

Thanks Amit. I am thinking of extending our trip by three more days and changing the route via NH 4, avoiding MP altogether as I am advised about the sorry state of road conditions there. I shall finalise the itinerary in a few days. I am getting good reports about road conditions in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

I understand that Bangalore-Mumbai-Jaipur-Delhi is 4-laned all the way with the most of the roads in good condition and good facilities for overnight stay and food although longer by 500 km as compared to Bangalore-Nagpur-Delhi with only half the distance 4-laned and of the remaining 2-laned stretches most of them are in pathetic condition in MP/UP with poor roadside facilities. So, I have decided to go by Bangalore-Mumbai-Delhi avoiding Nagpur route altogether. My itinerary is under thorough revision.

Day 8: Jaipur to Delhi [273 km] & halt
Day 9: Delhi
Day 10: Delhi
Day 11: Delhi to Agra [216 km] & halt
Day 12: Agra
Day 13: Agra to Udaipur [660 km] & halt
Day 14: Udaipur
Day 15: Udaipur to Mumbai [783 km] & halt
Day 16: Mumbai
Night 16: Mumbai to Bangalore [995 km]
