    Target - Drive Bangalore <-> Kanpur :car
    Occasion - Attend colleagues wedding
    Date - 02Feb2013 to 10Feb2013
    Head count - 3 men, all can drive
    Vehicle - How dare you ask that !!! :p

    Now dear TFI-ans,
    -Help me identify some "must see" tourist spots on the way.
    -Help me identify "must miss" places on the way with a safety perspective.

    Prefer to take the North-South corridor, but wherever there is a good place to visit we dont mind a diversion.

    -Strictly day time driving only
    -Can do max 1000km a day on the N-S corridor
    -600km off the N-S corridor a day

    Nature and historical places are the highest priority when it comes to attractions.

    One place which one of the team member suggested was Kanha national park, not sure what is the chance of spotting a tiger there, but comments welcome.

    Hi Pran, nice to see you planning this trip :). i have heard better reviews about bandhavgarh national park but it might require little more diversion than you guys would like :)

    I guess you are planning to take NS corridor till jhansi and then take right on EW corridor till kanpur. This should be pretty straightforward but for the diversions that you will plan.

    Bangalore-Nagpur (approx 1100 kms) is doable in one day itself in about 14 hrs so i feel you should plan your first night halt in nagpur!

    Exactly what we were planning. Cover few places in North half of India with the limited time available is our intension. And its new to me that Jhansi-Kanpur lies on EW corridor, thanks !

    HVK recommends Bombay-Ahmedabad-Udaipur-Jhansi-Kanpur (GQ) route, over the NS corridor.

    Please suggest how this route plan looks like:
    Day1 Bangalore -> Pune - 850km
    Day2 Pune -> Ahmedabad - 630km
    Day3 Ahmedabad -> Lakadia - 608km - Visit White Desert
    Day4 Lakadia -> Chittorgarh - 549km
    Day5 Chittorgarh -> Kanpur - 797km
    Day6 Wedding
    Day7 Kanpur -> Bandhavgarh or Kanha National Park
    Day8 National Park -> Hyderabad - 800->1000km
    Day9 Hyderabad -> Bangalore

    GQ is always better because of road conditions. But the difference in distance is huge.

    If you decide above route, you will easily cross Bombay, on first day, if you start at 4.30 or 5AM.

    Also, from HVK, very interesting details on bypassing bombay.

    Ravi, the reason for stopping at Pune was to have a better view of the Pune-Mumbai route, which I heard is very serene. Driving straight to Mumbai, we may reach that stretch by night, which means we cant enjoy the route. How much time did our Bangalore guys for Pune plant visit take? If we are able to reach Pune by 5ish then it should be fine, I think.

    12-13 Hrs for Bangalore to Pune (with one lunch break and couple of small tea breaks). And if you are driving, you will reach early :).

    If you start by 4AM, you will easily reach expressway by 4 PM.
