Viny, in which part of the country do you plan your trekking exercise? I would love to join you for a day if I could manage it in case you can coming to northern India (you had once expressed desire to go to Leh-Ladakh IIRC).

Would love to have you along with :)

Let me share current tentative plans
I am pondering on working out a plan to do Goecha La + Kanchunjunga Base Camp Trek (SIKKIM) starting from 27 Oct, New Delhi, will be a 10-12 days trek.

This is a tentative itinerary, I am in touch with guide and its team in Yuksom so there might be few amendments.

27 Oct - Leave from New Delhi - Rajdahani Express
28 Oct - Arrive New JalpaiGuri, leave for Yuksom via taxi (shared)
29 Oct - Yuksom - Tsohka -18km Trek (can be split in two days too)
    30 Oct - Tsohka - Dzongri - 9km Trek
    31 Oct - Dzongri - Chaurigang - 12km
    1st Nov - Chaurigang - Bikbari - Dzongri- 16km
    2nd Nov - Dzongri relax
    3rd Nov - Dzongri - Thangsing - 8Km
4th Nov - Thangsing - Lamune or Zematang
5th Nov - Lamune/Zemantang - Goecha la pass - Lamune, whether permits and stamina works we can do Goecha to yangitar
    6th Nov - Laumne - Kokchurung
    7th Nov - Kokchurung - Toshka
8th Nov - Toshka - Yuksom (again can be done in 2 days)
9th Nov - Yuksom - New Jalpai Guri
    10th Nov - New Delhi

Ideally i will return on 12th Nov to Delhi given its Saturday.

This is very tentative, can be improved for sure.

Why this, Kanchenjunga (8586m) is 3rd highest peak in world and the highest on indian soil also its in the least explored part of world. Kanchenjunga is one of the least explored 8000m + peak :) So thinking of enjoying it out.

Already got 2 like minded trekkers for this and its open for others too, if interested feel free to buzz me.

Tentatively the cost from Yuksom to Yuksom (treking) would come between 800-1000rs per day, so its pretty cheap compared to what it costs to travel anywhere else in world :D

And sorry doc, you got to spare more time for this, 1 day is not enough. Probably shorter treks on Himachal or Uttrakand could be planned for your liking :)
