So on Saimagwheels i see that all the 15" alloys have rim width of 6.5" but the permissible limit is from 5.5 to 6" .
So does this mean I cannot buy any of the alloys listed there?
Same case with 16" alloys as well.
    Am i missing something here?
    Please explain

.5" (12.7mm) variation is not a problem. You may need to buy wider tyres (195mm and higher) for proper fitment of the tyre on the wheel

One updation. The linea wheels(2012 Active and Dynamic) are 15" * 6.5"(Width). Not 5.5" or 6". Fitting a large width tyres may damage the inner part(Near lower arm - plastic parts) while turning the wheels. So its better to avoid the tyres oversized to the wheel width.

Hi Royj, need one more clarification. Is 195 is good for 6.5" wheel? Or it need more wider tyre?

^^ AFAIK, 195 can be used on rims from 5.5" to 7"
The lower limit of 6.5" wheels is 185mm and upper limit is 235mm.
It is always better not to go to the limits. So if you have 195 tyre, use a rim of 6" or 6.5" width.
If you have a 6.5" wide rim, then you may use tyres from 195mm to 225mm

Friends..when ever you switch to Alloys make sure you take into consideration the rim width. a 5.5J tyre will fit on 6J rim but the side wall wont have the curvature as when it was fitted on 5.5J. This will make the ride bit had and you will feel the road imperfection in the steering and inside the cabin more. When you switch to wider alloys make sure you get a matching tyre as well. I learned it in the hard way :) so thought of sharing it and will help other members.
