An accident in that speed range, the survival rate is very minimal whatever car it may be.

I know an accident in Linea where all 5 occupants lost their lives in TN. The driver was doing 160+. May be the chances of losing control may be less on well engineered cars like Linea.

In any case, hitting a tree at speeds beyond 80 kmph will cause severe damage to the vehicle as the car will have to take the maximum force (reactive as well) as compared to head on collision with any other vehicle where the tougher built vehicle suffers lesser damage. Hence in most cases, it is almost a one way journey to heaven!

One thing. How do they say that speed was at 160-170 kmph! Mere speculation looking at the mangled car parts and impact of the accident?

Saw at workshop a few weeks ago

Hears Driver and front passenger survived but passengers in the rear passed away. Apparently they were trying to jump out when the car was airborne.

Not sure how people came to that conclusion. The driver himself wouldn't know.

The car hit a median and turned turtle on the other side of the road.

More details not known. I clicked a pic from the front too but can't find it.

Pretty sure they were not wearing seat belts. Also in this particular accident, I am not even sure that seat belt restraints could help since head injury is highly probable here. If an old person or heart patient is there chances of instant death are even higher. :(

This accident happen today in early hours on Rajpur Road near NIVH. Duster was coming from Mussorrie side & heading towards Ghantaghar. from unconfirmed sources, Its seems vehicle was doing 120+ kmph ( as one can see the broken lamp post & the final resting place of the car is 50mtrs away) when a young drunken driver lost control & climbed over the divider, breaking lamp post in the middle & smashed vehicle on a tree on the opposite direction. Both front & rear passenger side occupants are dead & driver is survived with critical injuries

    Very bad accident indeed.
The door handle and the alloy tells it is an XUV.
