We reached malvan at 10 AM. I had booked a room a room in Anjali Lodge which is nearer to the Rock garden also near to the restaurant Atiti Bamboo which is one of the best restaurant for Veg thali. I found a good review about the Lodge on net. The rent was 1600 +Tax for AC double room. It is a kind of home stay and main advantage is vast, safe car parking away from main town still walkable distance to main market. Being a small town I anticipated narrow roads and I want to avoid taking car for walkable distance. My son got vomiting and fever and we simply stayed in the lodge. Afternoon we went for a boat cruise from Tarkarli beach through the back waters. The charge was Rs. 1000 for boat. We reserved one boat for us and had a cruise for one and half hours. It was a fantastic experience. I haven't experienced such a good boat ride before(may be one can find it in kerala back waters). The water was clear and clean. Pictures will speak about rest of my experiences.

Even though life is not that colourful, boat is colourful for them

The main attraction at malvan jetty is sindudurg fort scuba diving and snorkeling. The fort is made by Shivaji and the main attraction is that it is surrounded by sea. One has to reach there in boat. We need to wait till at least 40-50 people are available for trip. Also at low tide in the afternoon the water level will be very less and boat will not go near the jetty. Morning is the ideal time for it. Other option is clubbing snorkeling and scuba diving with it. In that case one will find more boats at a higher price. My son was having fever on that day so we decided not to go for snorkeling and decided that we will go to Tarkarli for Backwater ride and postponed the Sindudurg visit for next day.

Real boats look beautiful than the ones made by Hyundai. :D

Why is it named as Tsunami Island? Did the 2004 Tsunami reach there as well?
