Thanks mchanna. This revelation inspired me to change a lot of things in my life. It also inspired me to write this verse to express how I felt, strangely in a language I cannot read or write, but can think in:

    मंज़िल दूर और रास्ता कठीन था
    भटक रहा था हवा में पत्ते क़े तरह
    अचानक एक फरिश्ता आया
    उनके साथ दो कदम चला
    और मेरी दुनिया बदल गयी
    लेकिन अभी भी
    मंज़िल दूर और रास्ता कठीन है
    फर्क इतना हुआ के
    मंज़िल समझ में आयी
    और रास्ता भी

Google translate makes it read like a joke. Here is an English translation - credits to my sister

The road was tough and the destination distant
I was listlessly fluttering as a leaf would in wild breeze
    Unexpectedly an angel appeared
Along I walked those two little steps
    And my world changed
The road still remains tough, the destination still distant
    The difference though is that
    I have understood the destination
    And the road too.

I really like the song "ruk jana nahi tu kahin haar ke, kaanton pe chal ke milenge saaye bahaar ke" from old hindi movie Imtihaan. another recent version is from Newer movie Soundtrack. I like the one from Soundtrack more.

I feel this song is very inspiring. This song has been my companion in most of my solo long drives too.

I forgot to mention the road condition for the return journey.
Road condition between Hospet to Chitradurga wasn't very good, I meant, the 1st 50 odd kms has moon like creators and can't drive beyond 30-40kmph post that the road is decent.
No proper food stalls except for very small tea stalls and few dabhas.

@ Rajan, Sat, My home internet doesn't give good upload speeds, hence will upload snaps in several sittings, kindly bear with me.

Unsure if you can notice, but there is an owl in the above pic ! this was spotted by Mrs.Patchboy on the spot and believe me it took 5mins for me to figure the bird as the surrounding gave a perfect camouflage.

with regards to the crumpled or mangled trunk of the tree, i some how believe it has seen the destruction of the Vijayanagar Empire and is telling the sarrowful tale of the golden era and its destruction !
