I have a collection of photos of various temples and thought that it would be apt to post in a separate thread so that other members can also share some pictures. I request TFI'ians to contribute temple pictures that you have with you.

Let me start with a collection of Photos of 'The Big Temple' at Tanjore.

Absolutely Amazing Ramjn!! Thanks for sharing, it gives goose bumps realizing the height of knowledge our ancestor had.
How do we keep our database if we are on verge of an extinction so that future generation can identify them & use for their development. Since there will be 1000s of language spoken, best way is to encode them in pictures, geometrical patterns on stones. Everything else other than stones won't survive for thousand of yrs. When our mind will be developed enough so that we can decode them, we realize they were genius like Einstein. The mandala's, flower of life, seed of life ahhh... That what we are discovering from the study of CERN Hadron colliders at Switzerland. They are the geometry of vacuum & basic pattern than intelligent universe follows to create & keep itself in balance. The Toroid, infinite potential within finite boundaries. These symbols are found at every ancient site of world. What the hell...!!

Even more amazing fact is, this understanding was common throughout the world. One of the undeniable proof that when you align all temples, megaliths, stone henge, pyramids n bla bla through the world, they are exactly made at the intersection point of Ley lines (Earth magnetic lines intersecting each other & form a magnetic grid). Lol..!!

Who says Fire/Wheel were discovered during bla bla time, when you can't explain this?
we could realize intersection points of grid & it's geographical locations in 1970's with the help of satellites. How come those people draw such complicated stuff...::OO?

I have been to this somanthpur temple preserved by ASI. The cravings on soap stone is simply mind blowing. But my interest is more of medieval buddhist sites in south- india. check out this great article from The hindu -
