    I have been to Leh in 2010 in my Indica Xeta with 165mm GC. I had over packed. I had enough food to last both me and my wife. The only place we need to be careful of the GC is while driving over Nalas. With more number of cars and crossing these nalas only after assessing, will have no issues.

    The only place I think Linea might have issues is one two sharp turns enroute to Rohtang, sharp turn plus incline. The other one is while coming back from Pangong lake to Leh. Road to Khardungla is another nightmare for low GC and long cars.

    Not sure if this was shared and known previously, but this is very interesting new for fellow travelors
    • Though being an Indian tourist/national, you need to apply for Inner Line Permits for acquiring access in the regions of Hanle, Tsaga, Chusul, beyond Loma bend, Marsimik La, Chumur, and Batalik sectors.

    Attached in inline permit form.

    @J Ravi @Viny @mchanna guys it is time to decide the date and apply for leaves.

    3 weeks off is bit difficult for me but I will try my best to get it approved.

    @J Ravi @Viny @mchanna & others

    How about leaving 22nd August night/early morning and back on 11th September 2015 with 2 days buffer?

    Leaves need to be applied for

    24th to 28th August 2015 -------------- First Week
    31st August to 4th September 2015 ----- Second Week
    7th September to 11th September 2015 -- Third Week

    Weekends within this period

    29th & 30th August = First Weekend
    05th & 06th September = Second Weekend
    12th & 13th September = Third Weekend.

    So 3 weeks leaves and total trip of 21 days including 1 or 2 days buffer.

    Please reply to this thread if you are comfortable with these dates.

    @mchanna : Thanks for extra "A" :D, its Viny

    I am thinking of doing Zanskar circuit too, anyone interested?

    Day 1 -> Manali - Sarchu
    Day 2 -> Sarchu - Leh
    Day 3 -> Rest at Leh, get vehicle wash, permits and move around
    Day 4 -> Leh - Panang Tso
    Day 5 -> Panang Tso - Tso Morri
    Day 6 -> Tso Morri - Leh
    Day 7 -> Leh - Nubra Valley
    Day 8 -> Nubra Valley - Leh
    Day 9 -> Rest at Leh, vehichle checkup and wash.
    Day 10 -> Leh to Kargil
    Day 11 -> Kargil - Padum (Slightly hard to cover if not then take a break at Rangdum and start next day early morning to padum and return back to Rangdum for night stay)
    Day 12 -> Padum - Kargil
    Day 13 -> Kargil - Srinagar
    Day 14 -> Srinagar - Amritsar

    This is tentative plan, feels to busy ..but then thats what Leh is about drive and natural beauty.
    Other circuits like Hanle and Danu can be also thought off.

    @kedarbendre : I am fine with any dates :D

    @Viny - couple of observations on the iternary shared.

    1. Manali to Sarchu might not be duable in 1 day. Max you would aim for is Jispa, unless want to drive after dark too
    2. If want to do Tso Moriri then reverse the order and do it while returning via Manali. Tso Moriri is closer to Pang than to Leh and there might be challenge with fuel doing Leh - Changla - PangonTso - Tso Moriri - Leh
