I am waiting for my leave to be approved @Gurjit Singh ..Will let you know for sure
Hi fellow FIATIANS. Not to de motivate in any way but seems care needs to taken while planning Leh/Ladakh
They didn't even spare personal vehicles.
True, as i stated earlier, they were stopping every god damn vehicle and trying to create heavoc if you argue.
Well there goes my dream of travelling to Leh/Ladakh. I was planning to go by bike with friends. I thought once I am aware of the hardships I will plan another trip with family. Doesn't look like the dream is going to become reality anytime soon.
This is a really sad incident and surely would advice everyone to think about it multiple times. Is it worth taking the risk of going to such a place in your own cars and with your family ? I have shelved my plans for this year for sure.
If you'll be staying at Pangong Tso, avoid staying in a camp as far as possible. A concrete or wooden structure is better for a night-halt. Staying in a camp with extremely chilling wind in the night at such high altitudes may spoil the experience, AMS may kick in or makes one extremely uncomfortable.
Looking at the current situation at ladakh we need to seriously think again about our ladakh drive.
we should have a plan B ready.
Let's wait and watch and I hope the situation will improve in a month.
My Plan A : Mughal Road>Ladakh>Keylong>Sach Pass>Dalhousie [Rohthang Pass/Manali totally avoided]
My Plan B : Pathankot>Jammu>Rajouri>Bafliaz>Shopian>Srinagar>Sinthan Pass>Kishtwar>Killar>Sach Pass>Dalhousie>Pathankot
For both these plans in this September, the co-operation from the mafias, hooligans, terrorists and the weather god is required. As of now, I am planning for these two options, keeping my fingers crossed.
How about exploring NE as Plan B?
@mchanna as we discussed on WA group yes that will be the only option available for us to explore North East India.
I am pretty sure that the situation will be settled in Ladakh in a month.
Few of my colleagues are on the way to Ladakh and I will get all the required information from them.
