Hi. I have a punto 1.3 and m alos planning to go. hope i aint too late
I don't think so. Considering the longer distance, more traffic volume, more bottle-necks and more bad roads on the western India route than the central India, I feel the latter may be faster than the former.
I am bit worried about the Petrol vehicle. We need to carry jerry can if we are driving in Petrol car. Long queue of traffic and non availability of petrol bunk will make matter even worse as Petrol car has lesser range compared to diesel.
Please count me In for this Ladakh Trip.
I will be carrying jerry can
But the time we have chosen, will not have heavy traffic
Carrying a can is wise move pls ensure the can lid is tight enough to stop the leakage. We also carried the can and it was leaking badly and the result was foul smell inside the car, this smell turns off the entire fun and results to pukish environment inside the cabin.
I think that there is a ban on diesel vehicles at Rohtang pass imposed by the NGT. So, please check out this aspect in case the routeing is via Rohtang pass.
The ban is only for commercial vehicles. Private cars are safe to travel on those roads.
Prabal and myself are planning to have a call with HVK on weekend.
@wayfiat, Prabal & me bought Ladakh 951 from HVK Store.
A Fiat Punto has crossed Khalsar (Nubra Valley) to Durbuk (Pangong side) thro' Agham/ Shyok today - one of the most treacherous routes - direct route from Nubra Valley to Pangong without having to go via Leh.
