Kargil to Rangdum would be 5.30 hours with photo breaks and Drang Drung will be another 1-1.30 hours. So, if you leave Kargil early at about 4.30 am, you can reach Drang Drung by 11.30 am - 12 noon. Spend an hour there and start back at about 1 pm, you'll be back in Kargil by 8 pm. Yes, it would be hectic but it's doable especially with Taxi's.

Got confused between rangdum and padum :) that sounds doable.

This sounds to be a typical hatch / sedan route. Safer bet.

Check with HVK if Udaipur-Kishangadh-Ratangadh-Hanumangadh....and then abohar-Jalandhar route is ok. Faster & Shorter

Wari La might be difficult for Linea / Punto. Check with HVK.

Check if Linea / Punto can do Pangong - Man - Merak - Chushul - Tsaga La - Hanle route. Jannat !! The terrain is tough but you can at least go till Man & Merak in Linea/ Punto & come back.

My suggestion to the group is to try to do Zanskar circuit at least till Drang Drung, even though it might be in Taxi's. I guarantee you that you won't regret it.

This information was picked up from Hivayking forum and we need to decide which part is doable in Punto/Linea and which part to skip.

For sure we will discuss it with HVK and planning to buy Ladakh 951 and awaiting for more information on Chal-O-Ladakh.

Last night few of us from Pune met to discuss about the plan and finalize the cars.

We ended up finalizing the date which will be 22nd August to 12th September 2015.

    Cars finalized at moment:

Yellow sticker is not needed now in Gujarat. That rule is abolished now.

After restrictions imposed for Manali - Rohtang Pass section, I feel it is better to avoid Manali - Rohtang Pass and drive/ride via Dalhousie>Sach Pass>Killar>Keylong>Leh if Sach Pass is kind enough to welcome the visitors or Dalhousie>Bhaderwah>Doda>Anantnag>Srinagar in case Sach Pass is closed. Depending upon weather and road conditions, I will take Mughal Road either in the up or down journey via Srinagar>Shopian>Rajouri>Akhnoor>Jammu. Sharing a photograph from Facebook to know the mess created at Manali:
