I read somewhere Punto is coming out with 1.6 E Torque Petrol Engine.

105 BHP and 165NM Torque. FE would be 16kmpl :)

I do not know FIAT would do that, but I wish they do it. That will be one heck of a hot hatch, and the proper spiritual successor to the Palio 1.6 GTX.

Like the last line in the source, "But with the 1.4 T-jet powered Linea on the cards already, the 1.6 E.torQ seems like a distant dream for now.", I too believe it will be a distant dream. If they really want t make a hot hatch, they could have done a T-Jet Punto. I am not sure what is the market share of current 1.4 in the sales of Punto - I do hazard a guess that it will be the least contributing engine and if FIAT use that as a dipstick to gauge market response for a hot petrol hatch, a more powerful Petrol Punto will never see the light of the day.

On the other hand, it seems like FIAT will bring the Punto Facelift - the current facelift looks much better than the old facelift.

Refreshed looks with 1.6L engine is a great package. I thought putting a TJET engine into a Punto would make it a much tastier package :)
