    Hi Varun,
Thanks for the reply. Could you please specify the name of a trusted auto electrical shop in Trivandrum that you normally rely on? Asking specifically coz my previous experiences were not good.

Even i dont know of any electrical specialist here, i am also looking for one since some days, but since this is a small job, any garage would do. AFAIK there is one near eenchakkal and even one on the road opposite to the said shop in killipalam. Even better, you can take suggestion from the shop guy !

Normally in any wiring circuits the wiring is designed to take rated current load. If 100w bulb is connected to the wire which is specfied for 55w then gradually the wires gets heated up and in long interval of time the wires gets hardened and the copper in the wire also becomes more resitance to pass current, resulting to failure of fuses more often. After a prolong period,at that time we could not able to understand why the problem is accuring.Hence kindly do not use higher watts bulb than which is recomended. You can do a separate wiring with extra relay with out electric load affecting the original wiring.

That is why I had specifically mentioned in my previous reply, he can buy bulb and wiring harness. Roots/Hella wiring harness kits are available in the market with higher rated wires, relay separate fuses for low and high beam and ceramic holder for bulbs as the existing holder may get overheated with long use.. I ve been using it for quite a long time with a couple of continuous night drives without any issues so far.

Because of my laziness to roam around, at last I directly went to Motorplaza, Sreekariyam. They charged 1600/ for the Philips 100/90 bulbs with Philips relay, wiring kit and ceramic holders. The charge is inclusive of fitting charges. It seems they have done the job neatly, no confusions or delay since it is a daily job that they do.

I had an idea to change the fog lamps also to 100W, but they told that the bulb is H1 and 100W is not available for H1 in any make. So, in half mind, I changed the fog lamp bulbs to Philips crystal vision - 4300K, 55W which claims to have better light than the normal bulbs. But they are whitish. When I asked them to test with stock bulb on one side and the new one on the other side, it looked much brighter than the stock. But since it is whitish, I have to test it in rain and fog. They charged 1300/ for the same.

Still to test the results in night drive.
