The insurance for my Punto has been done by Bajaj Allianz. When I bought the car, the dealer was offering me Bajaj Allianz and Tata AIG. But since I had read more positive reviews about Bajaj Allianz, I decided to go ahead with it and I made the right choice.

The dealer had offered me a quote of 18k. However, I directly contacted Bajaj Allianz since I was sure I would get a better deal because the dealer commissions would be cut out.

For a fully comprehensive policy, I received a quote of somewhere around 12.5 - 13k

I purchased the policy directly from the company, made the payment by cheque, faxed them the invoice of the car and I received the policy by post within 2 weeks. Along with the policy I also received a "card" which had all the policy details on it.

Unfortunately, within two months of buying the car I met with an accident. A drunk biker smashed into the right front door and I had to send the car to the service station for repairs & bodywork. I lodged a claim, immediately received a confirmation sms with the details of the surveyor (his name, mobile number etc). The surveyor immediately completed the survey the following day and approved all repairs (replacement of door, RH side mirror assembly and repainting)

Overall, I will give 5 stars to Bajaj Allianz for their professionalism and transparency. Following the good experience I had with Bajaj Allianz I have transferred the insurance of all my cars to Bajaj Allianz. I have referred a lot of friends to Bajaj Allianz and they are also happy with the service Bajaj Allianz has provided them.

Hi Punter, I had exactly opposite exp with Bajaj Allianze,

All the FIAT cars are mostly insured with Bajaj, even the Factory cars have same ins. They charge exorbitatnt for the Rally Insurance. they have charged almost 9 K to FIAT just for 10 days of Rally insurance. on top of that when FIAT launched a claim for damages happened to the car during Raid 2008 they have not accepted anything inspite of charging 9K seperately for the Rally insurance. FIAT also is at equal blame for this.
with this experience when FIAT again approced for Rally ins for Punto for my desert Rally. they denied to issue Rally insurance and so FIAT had to go to other ins Co for same.

I have also taken my Punto's insurance from Bajaj. Dealer's quote was 16K, i got it at 11.5K myself.

Have used the service 2 times, minor accidnets, body repair works, and both time i didn't have to do anything. Since they have cashless facility with Concorde, everything settled by them.

    5-star from my side also.

    RENEWAL TIME

OK !! After having a very good experience with Bajaj till date, they messed up royally at the time of renewal which resulted in me shifting to Tata AIG.

First, I NEVER received a call from Bajaj Allianz that my policy is due for renewal and is approaching the expiry date. I expected them to inform / remind me but they did not. I was the one who was following up with them and asking for quote. Surprisingly, their systems were always DOWN and they were not able to come up with a renewal quote.

Then one fine day, I get a call from their executive and he informs me a ridiculous amount of 20k as the premium :shocked

I ask him to explain the calculations that bring up the magic figure of 20k !! He informs me that since I have 2 claims, they cannot give me ANY discount and the premium is working out to 20k. I said that is ridiculous : I can understand they not giving the "NCB" but raising the premium by 50% (my first year premium was 13k) was ridiculous according to me. I just hung up and called Tata AIG and renewed the insurance through them.

Details and features of the new insurance policy will be posted in a new thread.

  6. First year, my insurance was with TATA AIG. I made one claim for Rs. 8000 and the service was excellent.

This year, i shifted to Bajaj Allianz as i got a better discount. I had a claim for Rs. 12k this year and again, the service was very good.

This year i had collected quotes only from TATA and Bajaj based on the feedback received from the insurance advisor at the Concorde.

Heard TATA motors Insurance is also good but dont expect any discount from them. The insurance advisor said that even headlight assembly is reimbured in full whereas other insurance companies give only 50%. TATA insurance even pays for ECU malfunctioning !!

    >>> Amogh, i too heard that bajaj jack-up their premium if we have any previous claims !!

I warned you about it in this thread:

    viewtopic.php?f=34&t=244

I was told by a BA sales guy that the discounts are anyways lower these days across the industry. Also, multiple claims is a big taboo with all insurance companies, especially if it is for smaller amounts.

Even I have bajaj's policy. And from Amogh's experience i understand that insurance company's (ANY) can even increase the premium for the following year..

So i guess there is NO point in saving for a NCB for any insurance company. You get damaged, make a claim. No matter how small the damage. Let the insurance company pay for it. :punch If this is how they are/will be treating their customers..!
