I too am not supporter or basher of any of the SC. When I expressed my frustration, Krishna asked me to share my mobile number. Even before I receive a call from Mr.Krishna, I received a personal message here from Mr.Ranganath who is the Principal of Prerana/Vecto. When I was reading message from Mr.Ranganath, Mr.Krishna called to provide number of Mr.Basappa. And when I put the car there for service Mr.Basappa waited for me till I reach there (7:30 PM) and accompanied me with a SC guy for a test drive and noted all the issues. Then again when I took the car the same procedure is followed and they were there with me till 9:30 PM next day. It is the initiation they took when I was supported by Mr.Krishna here but I feel that if they don't have any intention to take their quality better they would haven't spent time for a single person's car.

When with KHT, I had bad service experience that the bruises in the car was made by some stupid service guy who took the car for service and when I contacted them to get a Sales person's number to give to my friend who wanted to TD a Linea. Finally my friend settled with Chevy Sail Sedan.

re: FIAT Exclusive Service Center: Vecto (Prerana) Motors , Bangalore

Ohh.. Is this a common practice and valid to claim labor charges from customer? May be you can write to Fiat and find if we should bear the labor charges for under warranty repairs. Can someone comment on this based on your experience.

Good if they really want to improve.

Just a quick update - left my car at Vecto for the 3rd service.

The Security put the plastic cover on the driver’s seat the moment I parked my car.

I was attended by Karthik (no waiting - probably because I was the 1st customer today)and I checked with him if I can purchase additional items like windscreen washer concentrate etc over the counter and he said I can absolutely buy ANYTHING over the counter, excluding the oil (because Oil comes in big barrel, they cannot sell it over the counter).
To reconfirm this, I will try to pick up the windscreen washer when I go to collect my car.

He gave me a rough estimate first, but I wanted a detailed break up - he patiently keyed up the estimate, took a printout and handed it over to me.

I tried to talk my way into not replacing all the oils (. I had no intention of doing it, just wanted to gauge his reaction if a customer insists), but he politely insisted that on the long run, it is better to replace the oils because if I did not, my extended warranty will get void.
He did not try to sell me anything extra (no decarb, no this cleaning, that cleaning etc). All in all, a very good first impression.

As they say, the proof of the pudding is eating it, so I will reserve my final comments till I get back the car from delivery.

You can buy such fluid stuff over the counter "but not" any spare parts, not even a simple air filter.

Same reason was given by Karthik when I checked with him to replace oil earlier before the schedule (say at every 10K kms). Looks like he had some bad experience from management/FIAT once when he agreed and changed the oil for a customer without following the recommended schedule.

sometimes i feel the JV with TATA was doing us good . Parts are not available on sale off the counter just seems terrible to me.
Some might argue that its a way to keep branding in check but if that is the case then how can i get OEM parts from places like 99rpm, some shops in JC road.
Yes i mean FIAT genuine parts with proper part numbers, Im sure its not smuggling!!

It only goes to show that dealers want to make all the money they can while they can.
At least some common parts should be made available OTC

The "spare parts" were never available OTC, earlier days as well, at any service centers. Only fluids or small accessories were given OTC.
And I think this is applicable to all OEMs.
  8. Maruti and Hyundai spares are available in JC road, so also mahindra and TATA.

If one is not ready to get the repair done at ASS, spare should be available to him get it done at place where customer wants get it done. May be FIAT spares donot have that kind of demand for shop person in JC road to stock it.

Ridiculous , during run in period it is better to change the oil earlier then the FIAT schedule. Why would FIAT or management have to worried as long work in done in the ASS it self.

Well Bro, Karthink categorically told me that I can buy spares such as brake pads. I did not push him much about what I cannot buy, but I assume if I can buy brake pads, then I can also buy air filter.

When I said, I'll change the oil once in every 10K kms at FASS only, the SA's argument was that when it comes to warranty claims, FIAT would verify the scheduled service record but not running repairs'. I know it's not completely true. But, my car had completed 12K kms at that time and so didn't want to create a confusion for just another 2-3K kms.
