My 15k second service at Vecto motors

My GP is about 10 months old now and the odo read 14300 kms on the May 3rd and I was hoping that maybe in the next few days I shall call for booking a service appointment. Incidentally, the same day myself, my wife and few friends caught up, it was about 12:15am and we were talking about another couple who had left to Munnar a couple of days ago and suddenly I had a big smile on my face:rolleyes: and my wife exclaimed "Oh no" with a smile on her face too:-D. I was planning to leave to Munnar that moment itself considering it was dry weekend in Bangalore and we had nothing to do.

The only thing I had in my mind was that my car would be due for its second service and B'lore-Munnar 'to and fro' would be 1k+ kms and I also had to keep in mind the getting-the-appointment factor of Vecto motors  for the service and I knew that would take couple of weeks atleast. Anyways I set of to Munnar at about 3:00am, me, wife and another couple of friends, reached Munnar at about 1:00pm.

I must say if someone wants to beat the summer heat then please go to Munnar , this was my first trip to Munnar and I was mesmerized :wow. I am a kind of person who gets jittery and annoyed due to heat :firey and I couldn't believe my watch as it showed me the time. It was 1:30pm and it was foggy, cool breeze all over, called up our friends and they were dead surprised, they stayed about 10-12 kms away from Munnar at a place 'the great escapes' beautiful place, they had booked the only available tree house and it was amazing.

The drive over the ghats was awesome:car, a total of 90km, I loved driving my GP on the ghats, it was as I am being asked by the car to explore the other side.I must say a lovely drive. Just before the ghats as soon as we entered the Annamalai reserve we spotted a tusker on the road which even charged at a swift which was coming on the opp side but the driver did the right thin by staying calm.

Once we reached Munnar at 1.PM we had lunch at a place called 'Rapsy', very good food, did a bit of shopping in the market and picked all the main requirements :drinks and headed to the resort, very warm and welcoming staff, even the resort served amazing food.

Unfortunately we had to leave the next day itself as my wife's work starts early and we decided to leave at about 3:00pm but managed to leave only by 6:30pm and with a few breaks we reached my home at 3:00am, just under 8.5hrs.

Now! coming to the actual topic ::V, I called the Vecto staff for an appointment this monday the 6th and she told me that there were no appointments until the 21st, I was actually worried coz now my odo read 15440kms, I would have crossed 16k in another 3 weeks, after further request she told me the only available date was 17th and I was still worried, requested her further, did a bit of sweet talking and she told me she can squeeze me in for the 8th :dancing, it was within the next 48hrs, I was more than happy and without trying to push my luck agreed to it. She asked me to come before 11:00am.

Reached the vecto motors at 9:30am, previously I had even spoken to krishna to make sure that I am sure of the work that goes in there, and he was all thumbs up. Met Mr. Praveen, decent chap, an ex. employee of prerana motors, spoke to him and told him about the niggles here and there and understood and acknowledged,He told me since there was no major work the car would be ready by evening and I was happy, he gave me an estimate of Rs.5600 and I was even dropped in a TATA Venture till about 5 kms, spoke to him a few times through out the day to make sure everything was fine.

It was 6.00pm and I left from my office to pick the car and the car was parked outside the showroom, spic and span and was surrounded by 5-6 guys trying to admire the ghost shadow lights on my front 2 doors, they had never seen this before and Mr. Channabasappa, the showroom manager wanted all the details related to it as he himself was curious and happy to see the laser beam of Fiat's logo hitting the ground every time the door opened.

I saw the invoice and I was happy as the bill was only Rs. 4770, I had asked him not to do the balancing/alignment though the alignment was free.

    Engine oil: 1521
    Oil filter: 411
    Air filtering element: 340
    Fuel filter assembly: 2059
    A/C pollen filter: 199
    Consumables: 150
    Windshield shampoo: 90

    A total of Rs. 4770.

My GP feels much more smoother and a lot of things feels different and nice.

Please do tell me what good things can I expect after the second service and what kind of changes has my GP gone through and what would be the results.

As I could see and understand that these guys are doing their best given the circumstances but I don't know how educated or knowledgeable they are when it comes to the hard core technicalities, hoping they become one of the best.

Overall, they were professional and I am satisfied with my 15k service. :p

Last Saturday, I went to Hosur road to meet my friend. I had some issue with door opening warning on the MID and strange beep.
So thought of visiting Vecto service center to check their response.

Went directly their service bay reception. On my request, one lady immediately ask one person to take a look, immediately two persons went with some glue and few hardware, they did some checking in the door sensor and adjusted the switch, the error disappear. The mechanic check all the oil level on my request and found that the coolant is little low, he topped it up, they did not charge anything for the entire thing. I am really impressed with them.

I got a chance to see a Fiat 500 closely in the service center. That is super beauty from inside.

Thanks to Vecto guys for prompt response that to weekend.

Thats great news.. so they've started looking at running repairs too, is it? It will be really nice if they abandon their "You get an appointment, then I'll see your about-to-break-down car" attitude.

Done servicing at Vecto (details here - http://www.teamfiat.co.in/punto-1-3...emotion-approaching-50k-km-14.html#post173289).
Overall experience was good, but I felt Vecto charges (labor) much more than Concorde used to, and though overall process is better, the issue resolution needs more attention from technicians.
I have to make visit again. I am afraid, Concorde's servicing experience was better, for me.

Looks like this is what worries most of us.
For any particular issue, I had to visit Concorde just once, and at least for another six months, I don't need to bother about service/ASS at all. With Concorde closing shop for FIAT, I chose to go to KHT, which is closer to my office. I had to go there again 2-3 times.

Each of these people need someone with a check list and a cane, reminding them of each issue they must attend to before delivery.

I tried calling up Vecto yesterday evening and today (to book my 3rd service) - but no once picks up the phone. I was trying 080 25743544 / 25743545. Is there any alternate numbers to reach Vecto?

Something wrong with the landline as well as mobiles. Unable to reach any service advisor over the mobile and the landline there is no answer. Not sure what the issue is.
