I would be able to rate them with the experience I had, but this cannot be the rule or the norm. So the experience can vary. For the rating you can read it here. http://www.teamfiat.co.in/linea-1-3-mjd/7687-petrol-hatch-diesel-sedan-4.html#post167994

Replacing parts is never going to be a permanent solution. But if they diagonize the issue and then replace the relevant part then it can turn out to be a proper solution. Aadya and KHT have a long way to go.

The existing technicians + a few new hires are there at the service center. They seemed to be quite trained and from what I observed during the day, those guys did not need too much of intervention to do their tasks. I dont think any Concorde guys are hired by Vecto.

As far as I am aware of, Vecto is not going to be a parts distributor or anything. But one thing for sure, they have ordered a huge pile of parts and they are stocking as much parts that is required to ensure the best customer experience is provided. Only time can tell how it will turn out. Wish it turns out to be better for the FIAT cars and their owners. Things should improve as Mr. Premanand himself is involved in getting a robust process in place ready than troubleshooting.

Technicians at service centers are supposed to be handling brand new vehicles to grossly abused vehicles, as part of their jobs. With this experience in hand they should be able to diagnose the issue by listening to the engine note or any other abnormal noise.

My friend was telling how he had to return a brand new Gypsy to the service station on day one because it was making high metallic noise when going at high speed. The technician did a test drive, and without opening anything or taking it to the ramp, told them that they forgot to put grease in the hub. They fixed the issue immediately and delivered the vehicle. This happened to be a 4WD Gypsy that maruti delivered to the Indian army.

Absolutely awful way of response from Vecto. I had to take my car to Vecto since it was making awful noises and had very poor pickup (looks like the Air filter is clogged). Despite being a running repair, they flatly refused to accept the car saying I require an appointment - and the next available slot is only on the 22nd! So are they expecting customers to take appointments for urgent works too?? And park the cars at home for the fault that he/she bought a Fiat?? Have a car and not use it because the sole dealer is not interested in a servicing cars??

FIAT is still no where on the path of even trying to make it big in India - the lack of commitment is evident from the fact that they've done absolutely nothing to handle customers who are affected by the transition - TATA dealers refuse to take the car, and FIAT dealers are now at their arrogant best.

If they bluntly refused without even analyzing the seriousness of issue, then it's something that should be condemned.
Since Fiat A.S.S. will be receiving more number of service booking, they'll definitely be under pressure. But they should understand issue's seriousness before rejecting repairs.

Did the service advisor test drove your car before refusing?

He did test drive - the noise issue according to him is only due to the engine guard - I doubt that since the engine guard was checked by Concorde when the same noise had appeared earlier (I hope its only that though).. but for poor pickup, he said he needs evaluation. Now, he cannot evaluate it without taking the car - and for that I need to wait another 12 days! I do not want them to give me priority - but atleast one bay should be reserved for running repairs - because certain issues which we may take lightly could affect the engine adversely in the long run.

I usually see lot number of cars on the road adjacent to Vecto and on the front parking area, waiting for repairs/service.
Obviously with high expectations and the sheer number of vehicles, they are under pressure.
And for those people who are not used to such kind of work culture it would be difficult to concentrate.
Lets hope in a few months they would get acclimated to this.

Who test drove your vehicle. By any chance did you get to know his name and the service advisor who attended to you. PM me the details. Let me try to help you out.

Even before Vecto motors was launched, Prerana Kudlu gate was running full. Scheduled service needs to be fixed atleast 3-4 days before. They serviced around 23-25 cars on a day which is more or less same now with Vecto. Need more service centers to compensate concorde motors' customers :(
  10. I agree to this. Every service center should have at least a bay dedicated for running/emergency repairs. I recall that Krishna has mentioned couple of bays for inspection/repairs in his service experience post. Wonder what they were being used to in your case? I have had the instance in my Punto where in the service center( ironically it was Prerana!) out rightly refused to even admit, let alone inspect, the vehicle when it had oil leakage. Reason: they were running full and i was not going there with a prior appointment :A

This is appreciated :up. But then Krishna, I feel they have got the basics wrong here. One common grouse that every one had when we were visiting TASS was, it was crowded or we were made to wait unnecessarily even after taking a prior appointment. Being, the first and the only one FASS right now and considering the high density of Fiat cars in and around Bangalore, Vecto should have anticipated the load factor. Yes, they have started recently and do need some time to settle around but this is a well known issue even from TASS days. 22nd is a good 11 days away and to wait for that , even for running repairs is certainly not at all acceptable. I want to stress a point here. Going through a known friend, saying that I'm from "XYZ" forum, calling up CRM, shooting a mail to FIAT is all OK. "I've a FIAT Car..It has some issues/ due for service" --> is this not good enough for me to get an admission to service center and try to get the things done.? Why should we be made to resort to work around, almost, every time?

Precisely. We need more service centers here in Bangalore. But then, who ever has opened FASS first ( in this case Vecto) should have been considerate about this. During servicing of my Linea at Kudlu Gate, my car was kept idle for almost 3 hours. This, after taking a prior booking, almost a week before. When i asked the service manger about this, he gave the same reason -" Overloading" . And he also assured me that things like this are going to be history once the FASS is functional. Looks like we are going to live with this for some more time.

OTOH, looking at how things are turning up here in Bangalore and in Chennai, it is better if FIAT issues a circular to the owners to minimize the running in of their cars or else risk it with the service centers till they officially say transition is complete, fully. :hit
