  1. MY Grande Punto 3rd Service at URSFIAT,Mysore ,karnataka Review

    Hai All
    My Grande Punto was completing 2 years on 27/2/2014(which is the delivery date ) and 3rd free service was due on 22/2/2014(this is based on vehicle invoiced date ). After TATA-FIAT breakup i had no service station in my native place in the radius of 230km .So i needed to plan for a good service center since 3rd service for GP was very important one .I had following options near by

    1)MANICBAG FIAT ,HUBLI (230KM)
    2)HAUNUMAN FIAT ,MANGALORE(220KM including ghat section)
    3)Any service center in Bangalore (260km )
    4)URS FIAT ,Mysore (240km)

    Dropped MANICBAG HUBLI because few days back one of our MFI team member Nadeem had a bad service experience
    Dropped HANUMAN MANGALORE because so almost -ve reviews in the blogs and journey included a to and fro drive in ghat section .
    Dropped Bangalore service centers because most of the service centers are crowded and also distance ,traffic
    and finally opted for URSFIAT Mysore after contacting few members from mysore who had bought their vehicle their and serviced and roads from shimoga and mysore were good for me to drive .

    I had driven my vehicle for almost 24500 km in 2 years .Finally booked service in URSFIAT,Mysore on 14/2/2014

    Had few problems with my GP which are listed below

    1) Noise from front and rear suspension
    2) Vibration in Front Left and Rear Left door when music played in bit high volume
    3) Boot Door was making creepy noise while opening for first time
    4) sound form under the bonnet when i was upshitting gear form 2nd to 3rd .
    5) Auto down of power windows were sometime not working
    6) Central locking was not working rarely .The front left lock had little bit problem i think
    7)Little bit Clutch adjustment
    8)Head light Adjustment

    Apart form these i never had any time type of complaint with pickup ,turbo or the mileage issue .

    Left shimoga by 5 :00 am and reached Mysore around 9:00 am .
    Pradeep J (Service Advisor ) attended me and noted down all my complaints and said which are all the routine works which are going to be done for the vehicle .He said Engine oil ,Coolant ,Break Fluid ,Power Steering oil and gear box oil will be replaced as per the scheduled maintenance . I said I have come from shimoga(240km) away for the service hence i promised will get my vehicle at the earliest to me and gave me an estimated quote of 8500 rupees .

    Regarding showroom :
    The showroom is located in the busy Hunsur Road of mysore which i also a hub of majority auto showrooms like Mahindra ,Renault ,Nissan and so on.Location of showroom is excellent and its also built up in an excellent area .They had totally 3 test drive vehicle 1)Fiat Punto 2)Fiat Linea and 3 )Fiat Linea Classic .They didn't had the TJet for TD . smiley-confused013.gif . Inside the showroom also there was good clean environment which we were missing in TATA showroom .overall design and architecture was excellent .They also displayed few merchandizing products to buy .Had some bitter experience which i will tell later . wow_bounce.gif

    Regarding Service Center :
    The service center was having 6 bays and single wheel alignment and balancing bay .Car wash area was good but body show was yet to come up their .Outside another 2 bays were there and was used to service TATA NANO . no.gif .I asked why are you servicing nano in exclusive fiat showroom they said this is temporary arrangement and currently body shop of fiat is in tata showroom frying-pan-smash.gif

    Regarding Service
    As per schedule Engine oil ,Engine Coolant ,Break oil ,Gear box oil and Power Steering oil were replaced .Oil Filter ,Fuel Filter Filtering Element ,
    AC Pollen filter was changed .
    Outcomes :Vehicle gearshit is damm smooth and vehicle noise is somewhat 50% reduced. Still mileage figures after the service is yet to be known after few days .     Regarding My Problems quoted

    1) Noise from front and rear suspension : Front suspension was damaged and was replaced under warranty . Earlier when i was riding i used to feel that vehicle is totally tilting towards right or left for any small inclination .Now after replacement its fine . Since front suspension was changed Wheel alignment was done( earlier i said i don't want) along with Wheel balancing (which was not required as of now) .They said rear suspension was fine though
    2) Vibration in Front Left and Rear Left door when music played in bit high volume : As of now the vibration is gone .may be it will penetrate once again in future emoticon_w00t.gif
    3) Boot Door was making creepy noise while opening for first time :Boot door shoks were replaced under warranty .
    4) sound form under the bonnet when i was upshitting gear form 2nd to 3rd : This was due to slight bend in the engine guard .The bend was removed and now there is no noise in shifting gears
    5) Auto down of power windows were sometime not working : They said they have rectified it
    6) Central locking was not working rarely .The front left lock had little bit problem i think : same as above
    7) Little bit Clutch adjustment :done somewhat
    8) Head light Adjustment :Adjusted and now i need to get adjusted to this

    Now Coming to rating of the service provided by the dealer

    1) Attending the vehicle at the entrance : Excellent
    2) Noting down my complaints and vehicle details : Excellent
    3) Attention towards my vehicle problems : Good
    4)Type of replacement work done :Good
    5)Wash quality and Rubbing :average
    6) Cleanliness of Service area :Excellent
    7) Knowledge about Vehicle servicing :Good
    Overall i would rate 9/10 for URS Fiat ,Mysore for their service and the way they are doing the business with fiat by investing good amount of money in bringing up an excellent fiat showroom there and providing fiat customers exclusive showroom experience .One of the Sales guy said they sell around 20 units per month .

    My vehicle was ready for delivery around 4 pm. Pradeep (SA) gave me the description of work done .The total bill came around 8955 (jump in the bill amount was due to the wheel alignment and balancing party which together costed 600 bucks) . Also bought the extended warranty . Finally at the billing section i thought of buying few merchandizing products so searched for few .I liked the toy car model of fiat punto in red color and selected it .But when i went to pay for it they said its the only piece we have and we can't sell it to you .We will get you one after 2 days but i said i came here from 240km and will not be returning any time soon . Came back home and mailed fiat about denial of selling that product .
    Immediately got a call from URS Fiat representative that he will ship me that one and when i asked about payment he was not even bothered about payment from my side .What a response fiat . blowing-kiss-thank-you-smiley-emoticon.gif blowing-kiss-thank-you-smiley-emoticon.gif blowing-kiss-thank-you-smiley-emoticon.gif blowing-kiss-thank-you-smiley-emoticon.gif

    For a round trip of 500km i got 23.2 kmpl mileage which i think is good one considering the unknown route for me and the series of humps which is there for each and every km we drive

    Hope this review will help GP owners and owners who are in search of good service station nearby .

    Nice of you to open a thread about Urs Kar, Mysore. We localites feel slightly ashamed that it took an 'outsider' to open a thread about our 'local' Fiat Exclusive centre. ;)

    You lucky @Abhishek Arya.... I am not lucky like u... I stay in mysore and as I told in my ownership review My PUNTO had front suspension noise(and still has) and from last 5 visits(from more than a year) they are not able to solve....
    Because of this several times I thought of selling my PUNTO....

    I've found the service experience to be strictly okayish. Nothing to complain about actually. But nothing to shoutout either.
    I've found Theertha to be pretty knowledgeable. Sagar was also good, but it looks like he's quit and Deepak, the in-charge person at the SVC, is pretty proactive. He lends an earnest ear and tries his best to fix the issue.
    That said, a few of the mechanics are arrogant and callous. I keep a strict vigil whenever they are near the car.
