    This is some detailed service review. :)

    It is really shocking that they haven't even stocked the Gear oil which is very basic for the service center. Not resetting the service interval clearly shows that they don't have any checklist with their service which is not at all a best practice. To be honest, I am scared to visit both RDC/Ramkay these days. I am nearing my 5th paid service and most probably I may end up visiting True Sai in Salem.

    @Sri Da: Is RDC Ekkaduthangal, better in that respect. I have been speculating between RDC and Ramkay. Ramkay has been prodding me and given me an estimate of 8500 rs for consumables + taxes for Second Year Service and the vehicle clocked around 21k in the odo.

    Your air con had worked to the max as i remember you never ever turning if OFF in its entire lifetime and check number plate light is again a niggle that could be fixed in a jiffy.

    Could you elaborate on the brake sharpness, do you feel you need a replacement, as i feel the rotors service life is not eternal, they tend to wear out how much ever careful we are while braking. Does replacement of pads did not help yet ?

    If you are contemplating visiting a service centre as far as Salem,kindly wait for my experience with the newly opened Fiat a.s.s in Pondicherry.
    Am planning to send my car for her 65 k kms service there.
    My past experiences there is mixed.Bill was very much low at 7 k when compared to the 10k that Chennai service centres charged me, but...
    they stole my under body cover, tore the seat cover while vaccum cleaning and broke the boot opening lever.
    On the positive side after a service there my car did not demand another visit for another 15 k kms
    very sad and strange that they don't even have a land line number.I have their mobile number if you need.

    Have been to RDC Ekkaduthangal today for addressing the right pulling issue in my Punto. SA Cruz gave a warm welcome and assigned a technician to sort out the problem. Took the Punto for the test drive with the technician(Muthu) and indeed he felt the heavy right pulling as soon as we hit the road. He immediately set's expectation that it may take time (whole day may be) to address the pulling issue since several things may cause the pulling issue and they need time to identify the same. I agreed and requested him to go ahead and work on the pulling issue. He did try several combinations of swapping tyres/rims(including spare), wheel alignment and did quick test drives. After two hours I was summoned for a test drive and VOILA ....right pulling was arrested. Happy with the outcome.

    Sure Bala.

    But, I won't be visiting Salem only to service my car. My parents live there and I frequently travel to Salem. :)

    I am getting nervous guys as my first service is nearing. I plan to change the engine oil and transmission oil. I am not sure whether I will be charged for that.

    Fiat don't recommend to change Engine/Transmission oil during first service. Any way, you have to pay for it if the oil is changed.

    Changing oil is not necessary but for sure will not bring any adverse effects I believe :)

    I am just referring to the labour cost here. I know for one of my friend they didn't charge for changing the oil.

    I have done the first free service @ RDC ekkaduthangal on 25th March. I have been offline for few months due to some personal priorities and just getting time to share the experience with RDC.

    ODO : 4960 kms
    Bill amount : NIL :)

    Issues reported
    1. Left pulling issue
    2. Steering response not satisfactory
    3. Clutch adjustment
    4. Rattle noise in rear left door and dashboard rattling noise
    5. CD ejection problem with the cd player

    Issue status post the first service with ODO on 9000 kms.

    1. Left pulling was arrested but only on flat roads. Vehicle pulls right or left depending on road. I was not fully happy yet but was told to use the vehicle for few weeks and bring it back if am not happy. The issue gradually resurfaced and affects handling of the car. I am planning to visit RDC in next few weeks to see how the pulling issue can be resolved permanently.
    2. Steering response was satisfactory but as I used for more kilometers the issue resurfaced. I believe problem 1 & 2 are related. Hopefully will get it fixed in the next visit.
    3. Clutch adjusted.
    4. Rattle noise was completely arrested.
    5. CD ejection problem resolved.

    All of my issues are addressed and was happy with the service experience overall. Because of the left pulling issue the car was delivered on day 3 but I was fine with that. I am just unhappy with the handling of the car now due to the pulling issue and steering response which resurfaced gradually post the first free service, otherwise am very happy with their commitment to resolve issues. FE currently hovering around 15-15.5 KMPL in City with full AC.4000 KMS post the first service, no new issues came up except for a minor dent caused by a careless Zen driver on Left front passenger door.
