Just spoke with linealover. He fumed over the 60k blunder by the RDC. If he hadn't been sailing he would have ended going to RDC RIGHT AWAY to fight for the blunder done by them.

There are 2 blunders in that 60k service. One is very major blunder.

    1. No need to change all the fluids in the car as it was already done during the 2 year service. Next fluid change should happen again after 2 years or another 60k kms. from the date of fluid change. They should have only replaced the engine oil and the filters.
    2. Replacing Timing chain during 60k service is MANDATORY as per Fiat service schedule. This is not done and they advised that it is not needed. What will happen to the extended warranty if something goes wrong with the car? I am planning to shoot an email to Mangesh now itself.

On top of everything, is the labour charge of Rs. 5040 justified for just changing all the fluids?

I really do not know what is wrong with RDC. I was charged Rs. 950 for replacing the brake pads in my Linea. For the same job, Ramkay Fiat charges Rs. 300.

Even dis-heartening incident is, even after paying Rs. 15k the car was returned with lot of dirt and with a new scratch.

Ramesh, it is only a matter of time before both agree to cartelize and then you cant fault one another. I am sure those guys must be observing this thread.. Some people have already begun to service on their own.

Re: FIAT Exclusive Service Center: RDC Fiat, Chennai

Well, Ramkay is not of the kind which would do a cartel with RDC for making money. Ethics and procedures can be seen even at the worker level which is flowing down from the top management. Have you visited Ramkay yet?

His car is still in Extended Warranty. If the FASS has wronged advised that Timing is not needed for the car during 60k service, how would a normal customer would know this and what will happen to his warranty claims in future?

If your observation is indeed for real, then Ramkay needs to be appreciated. Ramkay is too far for me. They need to open a service centre in this part of Chennai Ambattur area. My car will be 4 yrs this august and will be a free bird. I have already worked out options if these authorized centres are planning to fleece.

Abdul, I too agree with DRIV3R. Sundhu's car is now with Ramkay for GC. They are giving me updates very frequently and any part I ask for, it is available with them. They have already changed Glow plug under extended warranty and now they are doing the Timing kit replacement. Visit them once and you will know what we mean.

I really wish RDC also to fall in Ramkay's way and change the perception people have about Fiat's. RDC Fiat, Are you reading this? :)

This is surprising to hear. Some months back they were over booked and honouring the appointment itself became a challenge. Now, they are scouting for Customers?

FASS is calling customers to ask if they need service. :D
