I finally managed to get my 60K service done at RDC on Saturday. The issues I reported are mentioned below

    1. Glow Plug needed to be changed - Issue fixed under Extended Warranty.
    2. Rattle from rear door – the rattle still seems to be persisting, I should probably think of damping seriously now.
    3. Parcel Tray rope needed to be changed – Replaced, Cost was around Rs. 140.
Apart from this I did the regular oil, filter changes. The overall bill was around Rs.8600. The number cars inside the service center seem to have definitely reduced with them opening a separate body shop.
I was the first to arrive at the service center at 8 45. Although Anil was assigned to take my car, Abin stepped in since I was in early and I was out of the service center by around 9 30. They told me there were not really sure if they could deliver the car the same evening and that I might have to wait till Monday.
The service along with the issues reported above was resolved to my satisfaction and the car was delivered on the same day, which was quite impressive considering the number of cars these guys are dealing with day in and day out. I did opt out of the car wash to get it on the same day though.

On a side note, the glow plug replacement under extended warranty wasn’t yet approved when I went to collect the car but Tensing and Anil deducted it said they would close the request as and when the approval is received. A nice gesture, they could have made a fuss about this and delayed changing the glow plug until they received the approval. Overall, things seem to have improved for the better and I was pretty happy with the service.

Apparently they will be starting the new service center at Ambattur sometime next month, this should help ease things out and should make life easier for the folks working at the service center. Working so hard and yet having customer complaints can be very demoralizing, given the current scenario I think RDC seems to be doing a great job.

Flywheel nice to see that you are happy with the service. Door rattles how much ever we fix it will lead into more rattling in the future. Best option is to do the door damping.

Anil, Tamizh and the Boss Man - Tensing had always been there even through the Tafe Times.. So always there was satisfaction guaranteed.. Especially now when I see fiats all around I was thinking why didn't fiat do this at the very beginning and lost many many true ardent fans of fiat cars just because of service issues....

Very bad experience in RDC Fiat Chennai

I have very bad experience with these people. On 11[SUP]th[/SUP] May morning 9:00 A.m. I gave my car to remove dent in theleft rear door & wheel arc, to paint them, since it’s a active variant I haveasked them to paint door handle & rear view mirror and door issue (it’s notlocking from driver side). They never start the work. After many call to (Jai,Jagdesh, Dominique (he'll never pick my call)) and direct visit to the servicecenter, Jai promised me tht he'll deliver my car by Saturday. When Ivisited the service center Jai was not there and I met Jagdesh he promised meto deliver it on Tuesday noon. Finally this Monday (27[SUP]th[/SUP] May) theystarted the work. Jai asked me to come Tuesday 7:30PM. I went there ashe told. I waited till 9:00PM. With no patience I went to car washing area. Iwas very much shock to see my car. Dry dropping paints were seen in the body, they never masked the car while painting so tail light, top, rear glasseverywhere it’s rough because dried paint spray also I can see hair line scratchesall over the car. They never painted the rear view mirror & door handle andnever rectified the door lock issue. Next week is my wife’s delivery due dateso I took my car back with all these issues. Both Jai & Jagdesh promised metht they‘ll solve the paint issue and other issues once my wife get’s herdelivery by 1[SUP]st[/SUP] week of June.
They charged 8.5k for this poor dent, paint job.I’m really pissed off by RDC Fiat Chennai service center. I really don’t understandhow these do their job like this, even they might have car or bike and if theyface this kind of problem for their car or bike, how they‘ll handle this.

Hi Friends , Yesterday I have given my Punto for Third Service to RDC Fiat. I was quoted 10.5k for oil & filter changes. Is this normal charges !!!! Moreover in the afternoon I was called by Abin and told that Break Pads and Disc needs replacement , which will cost me 7k more...

Whether Break pads and Disc will not be covered under Warranty !!!!

I struggled a lot to get a slot for my Punto's Third Service. My Warranty is getting expired on 30th may '13 and before that I was requesting a slot with Mr.Raghu(CRM)...I raised the request with FIAT Customer Care and during conference call , Mr.Raghu told me that they didnt have service slot and I was asked to Approach Ramkey (who are opening on May 29th)... Then I struggled with Jacob to get the slot on May 28th.. Yesterday when I visited RDC for handing over the vehicle I was told by Mr.Williams(SM) and the Front Office Person that Priority is being given to 3rd Free Service , since it needs to be done before Warranty Expiry... Its really confusing for me !!!!

Mr.Tensing is really a great person. He solved the issue wrt Crancy Noise in the front side(driver side) of the car , which was lasting for more than 1.5 yrs !!!! Kudos to Mr.Tensing ...

Whether the discs need replacement at 30K kms is debatable but the break pads life is more or less touched at that ODO. Changing the discs is a call you have to take ,after visual inspection and comparison with the new discs as to how much it has worn.

I am guessing that your car has completed 2 years. At 2 years, all the fluids will be replaced not just the engine oil. If the quote of 10.5k is for changing all the fluids, then it is absolutely fine.

Ya brakes and discs won't be covered under warranty. Have you ever changed your brake pad before this?
If you had been driving with worn out brake pads, your discs would have been affected.

As Abdul said, have a visual inspection and then change it if required.
