I haven't collected the car back yet, received a call in the evening that my car is ready. However I couldn't collect it due to work schedules, I'm hoping to collect it tomorrow in the afternoon. I was quoted above 10K as bill for 60 which is on the higher side even after adding the stuff I requested, surprisingly they've done brake pad cleaning even when I requested not to do. The rotors in my car has developed scouring and asked them clearly not to do anything with it. I'm hoping to sort this out tomorrow while taking the car out.

I remember you had reported your service slot to be at June 3rd!
Has the queue got shortened? May be I should also check if my booking for June 4th can be advanced!

re: FIAT Exclusive Service Center: RDC Fiat, Chennai

No. I learnt about June 3rd when I had to book a slot for my friend. Mine was booked even earlier, so I don't think it had changed.

The day I came back from US, I had the immediate need to change the brake pads in my car. Given the current situation, I initially thought of getting it done outside of FASS but still I wanted to try with RDC and see if they can accomodate my car for the replacement.

I first called Tensingh with the request for brake pad replacement. He told that every service is done strictly based on appointments with some exceptions of emergency running repairs. He told me that he will check with the MD, Mr. Chandrasekar and get back to me. Meanwhile, I directly called Mr. Chandrasekar and asked him if they can accomodate my car immediately. I understood the situation and asked to visit the shop the next day, Thursday.

I know that RDC is located at Ekkattuthangal but I don't know the exact location. After reaching Ekkattuthangal, I was roaming around unable to find the service centre. Worst part is, I forgot to carry my mobile phone too. I had to call teky from a STD booth to enquire where exactly the service centre is. After his guidance, I finally reached RDC at around 11 AM. The security at the front gate checked his list to see if my car is recorded in his list. After verifying, I was allowed to enter the gate. I went into the reception and found Mr. Chandrasekar itself there. Had a chat with him and he took me to the service bays and explained me how they are organizing things. He told that the body shop is moved to a different location and Ekkattuthangal facility will only be used for service. And a new service center will be opened in Ambattur soon. He told that he is personally supervising the service center to set things right. Later, I came to know that he along with his wife are working together to shape the service center. Also, met many know faces Tensingh, Tamil amd Anil. I was asked to wait at the Customer Lounge and was promised that they will complete in an hour. I also requested to replace the mud flaps with the absolute flaps. They almost took 2 hours and Mr. Chadrasekar himself inspected the car before delivery. Total bill amount came to Rs. 5225 with brake pad costing at Rs. 3290, Absolute flaps Rs. 899 and the labor charges of Rs. 950. The Labor charges seemed bit high to me. Got to know from Tamil that Fiat has decreased the cost for many of the spares up to 50% and cost of some spares increased like the brake pads. Overall experience at RDC was pleasant and noticed that everyone were courteous.

    Things for improvement

    - They need better reception (Front desk). The current setup is reminding me the one at VST Motors.
    - Customer Lounge can be made even better. Not comparable to ones in Hyundai Motor Plaza.
    - Need improvement in attention to detail from the service mechanics.

Overall they are doing good and committed towards better service. Let us wait and watch.

at rdc fiat for a broken lock and cigar lighter fuse replacement. looks like they have leased a parking space nearby and the workshop is not crowded or messy at all. if someone wants to enquire status of their vehicle pm me and I will ask. Will be here for less than 1 hour.

Missed meeting you by a whisker it seems, I took delivery of my car around noon post 60K service. Very much satisfied with the work done on my car, no new marks or anything of that sort. There is sufficient space for the cars to move around and the charges for some stuff seems nominal. I was charged about 10K for 60k service inclusive of WB,WA and also the Intercooler hose damage. I'll write a detailed review later, but the workmanship is excellent and I'm happy that RDC is taking all our feedback very seriously and action upon it.

When I was approaching the SC I saw 2 to 3 guys leaving the centre and I was craning my neck to see if if there are any familiar faces.

As Ramesh said I had trouble finding the showroom as I assumed it will be on main road. I read here that it was opposite to Virtusa Tech park but couldn't locate it, went till Guindy industrial estate and enquired a automan there. He was not aware of the showroom and asked me to take a left before Indian oil petrol pump for Balaji nagar. After roaming around reached the service station. It's on a lane opposite to Virtusa tech Park.

The security asked me if I had an appointment, I said that I had a broken lock and he left me in right through. Meanwhile an SA coming back from lunch noticed my car entering and enquired the security if the car has an appointment. I came out and explained to the SA that I have a broken lock, the SA was sceptical about the availability of spare but anyway decided to have a look. Meanwhile Tamizh came and I was told that the problem will be sorted in 30 minutes. I also asked him to change fuse for cigarette lighter. I waited in the lounge and in 20-25 minutes I was told that the car is ready. Thanked the SA and Tamizh and came out. I was not charged anything, came to the main road and searched for new scratches and there were none. I was quite delighted about the pleasant experience, I was inside the service centre for just around 30 minutes and these guys even had time to remove concorde stickers and paste RDC stickers:)

A wire in the lock was broken it seems.

My second service is on 13th june and I will be comfortable giving the vehicle to them, I was thinking of going to Bangalore if things didn't improve.

    Feedback:
RDC can look into placing sign boards showing way to their service centre.

These guys were definitely not free and I am glad that they solved my issue so fast.
